Ginnifer Goodwin: 'Everything Goes with Short Hair'

Mastering a pixie cut like Ginnifer Goodwin‘s is a cinch — just ask the actress herself.

“People say it’s a difficult hairstyle to pull off, but I don’t see how it is tricky,” the Once Upon a Time star told PEOPLE on Thursday at the Young Hollywood Awards in Los Angeles.

“I have very curly hair and I straighten it every day — it takes maybe two minutes. I can’t imagine anyone having a bigger challenge than I do in the kinkiness that is my crazy ‘fro,” she added.

Aside from how easy the ‘do is to manage, Goodwin said the hairstyle lets her be more flexible when it comes to fashion.

“I can wear far more with short hair than I could when I had [long] hair,” she said while donning a white lace Monique Lhuillier dress. “Everything goes with short hair. It’s bananas.”

The style-savvy starlet also named some designers she’s currently loving. “I’m very excited about what Jason Wu has coming out,” Goodwin revealed. “I’ve been fairly impressed with Jonathan Saunders, and I’ve been wearing a whole lot of [the line]. I think the same about Preen as well.”

Added the actress, who wore bright pink lipstick and said she’s a fan of the neon trend, “The fashion industry is growing and changing and taking risks. I’m excited about all of the shapes and colors.”

Not bad on

I love her short hair, I think it suits her perfectly. I think she is very pretty, and love that she isn’t your typical Hollywood beauty.
And Kinsey, are women only allowed to wear dresses and stay home with their babies too?

I think she looks much more striking and original with short hair. It fits her features. And for those who think women should not have short hair – what about Audrey Hepburn? A classy, beautiful woman with a pixie cut.

I absolutely love Ginnifer Goodwin in Once Upon A Time, but really don’t like the pixi cut on her… mostly because she looks absolutely gorgeous with long hair on the show!

I love the short haircut- she is a risk taker and makes a great statement and always wears great fashions-YEAH!

I LOVE her cut. I have the same cut. It takes confidence to rock short hair like that. The same old long, Barbie hair dos are BORING. Everyone has that…

She looks adorable.

I have something long that would go great with her short hair!

She always looks great with short hair. She can definitely pull it off

I don’t like it. I don’t like short hair on a woman. I know it’s 2012, but I think women should still try to be feminine with long natural hair. Not bleached blonde and not the color of a Muppet, like Katy Perry. That’s ridiculous!
