Selena Gomez On Sexy 'ELLE' Cover: 'It's Not Anything I Wasn't Comfortable With'

Selena Gomez is all grown up on the July cover of ELLE — and she’s embracing her maturity.

“Honestly, I do understand that I have a younger fan base, but I also have a fan base that’s my age and that I kind of relate to,” she told PEOPLE Saturday at the New York launch of her namesake fragrance at Macy’s Herald Square. “I am getting a little older, but it’s not anything that I’m not proud of.”

The pop star — who turns 20 in July — graces the cover (below) of the women’s fashion glossy wearing a stunning mesh Dolce & Gabbana corset dress, with the fashion getting steamier inside the magazine: she also strikes a pose in a deep-plunging metal-chain YSL dress and a Vera Wang bandeau bra paired with tight, striped Marni pants.

“I think it was very classy,” the star continued of the spread. “It isn’t anything that I wasn’t comfortable with. I thought it was beautiful — I loved it.”

On Saturday, Gomez continued her style streak in Versace high-waisted shorts and a matching bandeau top teamed with a white Vanessa Bruno blazer (above) — to promote her new business venture, Selena Gomez Perfume.

“I’m excited — it’s actually here! It feels like it’s been a minute for it to come out and everything,” the star revealed. “My fans have been there from the beginning, so they kind of already have an idea of what it is, so I’m excited to just have it out finally.” (Fans were able to vote on the ingredients they wanted in the scent earlier this year.)

The talented star hinted at the possibility of a second fragrance, too, “Hopefully if this one does well,” she joked. “We’re not aiming for it yet, but I would love to.”

Gomez’s sweet fragrance features notes of raspberry, chocolate and vanilla and is available to purchase now at Macy’s stores and online.

People need to grow up, the people, and especially the media. Selena has matured beautifully, with brains and class. Professionally, seeing her grow through the years and her career launching off with great thought and originality, she hasn’t changed a bit, she has the wit and balls like she did as Alex Russo, and is ready to make a move and a darn good move, she takes risks, as an ACTRESS of course, not a daily wardrobe, which sadly is what most critics look at most in young actresses, the “wrong moves”, but Selena creates a movement without any pressure or having to lift a damn rumor or news. Her boyfriend is the only thing, or event like chapter in her present moment, that is completely irrelevant and annoying, always bringing kiddy like problems and rubbish… I never cared about his presence next to Selena. (Anyways) She still has that curious and wanting look, so obviously she has more to give to us, and she’s not and never was scared to show who she really was, she never needed to go to extreme actions like most “youngsters” do to put herself out there, she just naturally does with the help of her personality and Latina guts! Love me a latina, mujer poder! Plus, I love me a woman with guts! People put her and labeled her as a supposed “miss goody two shoes” but she really is just being herself, so it’s comedy to see people in sudden “shock” of her little grown up movements… Lulz.
On the cover, I personally loved this elle shoot, she always oozes maturity and youth to her magazine shoots, it’s like innocent rebelliousness, and I love it! Like the Mexico ELLE shoot as well, (which I was more than happy to see that she started her big high fashion openings in mexico, her roots and home!) More kudos and respect to her for that! Swear, I wanted everything she wore on those shots! That Balmain embroidered top and yellow background cover was my absolute favorite of it all, artistic and summer orientated, the metal dress was dazzling and electric as well, pure SEX! Can’t wait for my own issue! You go girl, don’t let others get in your way, you have your older fan base grow with you and see you sprout like a true actress, not idol, but praised woman, which is what we women need, the young women need, a latina that’s making serious inspirations and movements!!!
