The Kristen Bell CMT Music Awards Look You Didn't See on TV

CMT Music Awards hostess Kristen Bell had five fabulous on-screen outfit changes last night — but there was more to her wardrobe than met the eye.

Backstage in Nashville, the petite star stunned in black pants, matching shoes and a plunging black-and-gold beaded jacket by Jenny Packham. She held her blonde hair up and back with a headband, and made sure her accessories and makeup were minimal.

Bell kept the designer looks coming throughout the country-loving telecast; hitting the red carpet in Reem Acra (longtime love Dax Shepard complemented her in an Anthony Franco suit) she first changed into a feminine one-shoulder Collette Dinnigan gown before trying a Monique Lhuillier feathered mini, sparkly Lhuillier halter and finally, a sexy gold sheath.

The actress wasn’t the only big star on hand, though; Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Ashley Greene and more made a splash on the red carpet, too. Check out our gallery of looks and tell us: Whose dress was best?

Love her! She would look gorgeous in a brown paper sack.

I thought Kristen rocked as co-host! She was funny, full of energy and seemed like she genuinely liked being there. I though she looked amazing, too!

Too bad Amanda Seyfried wasn’t there to woo the boys at CMT… But why call it CMT, Country Music Television? I haven’t seen a music video on there since 2003…

I think she did a great job, her hair was to messy!

@Hootie’s blowfish- do you watch CMT often? There are music videos on that channel all morning, every morning. It’s the only video playing music channel still on. When I worked, I missed them, but now that I’m off for the summer, it’s nice to actually see them and catch up. Remember when music television had music on all the time?… Those were the days. Anyway- love Kristen. She did a great job.

I know its the CMT Music Awards but she looks a little too country not wearing a bra. I hope her floppers didnt play peek-a-boo.

I adore Kristen Bell and was glad she co hosted. BUT, I am becoming disappointed in the performers. I LOVE Rascal Flatts, and I like Journey from back in the day, but more and more rock stars are showing up on country award shows as performers. How about just giving awards out at a rock show from now on. Instead of having Alan Jackson give an award, he could have performed. None of the oldsters do anymore. Heck, if Toby didn’t sing about a red cup, be was headed for oblivion….bring back real country!!
