Kaela Humphries: I Feel ‘Really Blessed’ to Be Modeling

Landing a plus-size modeling contract and a clothing campaign happened quickly for Kaela Humphries — and the rising star knows she’s one in a million.

“I just feel really blessed,” she tells PEOPLE in the clip above. “I know that it doesn’t happen right away for everyone.”

Humphries — older sister of Kim Kardashian ex Kris — was scouted by FORD Models’ FORD+ division earlier this year, and left her job to take a chance on the gig. “They are the best people to work with in the industry, and it was just an opportunity that I did not want to pass up,” she says.

Working with the agency and the Limited’s plus-size line, eloquii, has given Humphries the chance to be a voice for women of her size. “I get to celebrate the body that I’m in, I get to be who I am, and model great clothes and work with great people,” she shares. “I feel ecstatic every day.”

I am very happy for her. She is a beautiful lady inside and out. And…for all the mean girls making horrible comments–you should be ashamed of yourselves. It is apparent that you all have miserable lives. Try doing something nice and kind today. It may get you in a different mood!

All you critics would feel blessed if you were her too. Jealously is a horrible way to live. She is absolutely beautiful and I am so proud of her for loving herself the way she is, as I’m sure it is not easy will all the negativity. Our society needs more plus-size models. What a wonderful inspiration she is to all women!

It takes relationships and connections to get jobs these days. She is at the age where she can take a chance and grab the opportunity when it is in front of her. Good for her, and the sincerest best of luck to survive the cut-throat business.
