How 'Snow White' Swag is Helping a Cause

With a film as magical and enchanting as Snow White and the Huntsman hitting theaters Friday, it was only fitting that jeweler Loree Rodkin get creative and design exclusive items inspired by the movie for HSN. “I designed this collection based on the fairytale and the footage from the film,” the designer (she counts good pal Cher as one of her biggest fans!) explains to PEOPLE. After sketches, carvings and countless samples were perfected, Rodkin was left with a beautiful collection of medieval-inspired cuffs made of faux leather and Swarovski crystals, “something the wicked queen (played by Charlize Theron in the film) would wear,” she says. “They’re tough but seductive.” The cuffs debut May 30 as part of a special Snow White and The Huntsman multi-platform HSN event — and they have a charitable twist, too. A percentage of profits from Rodkin’s cuffs ($69.95 each) will provide backpacks full of food for children in need through Blessings in a Backpack, an organization that feeds elementary school children whose families qualify for the federally funded National School Lunch Program and have little or no food on the weekends. Nothing evil about that! –Jennifer Garcia
