Rita Wilson is going retro — for her One Kings Lane flash sale, that is. The singer-actress (and wife of Tom Hanks) curated a vintage-chic e-boutique for the discounted designer home goods store, and explains the significance behind her picks in this week’s PEOPLE.

“These planters brighten up any room,” she shares of the Kelly Bright Planters (bottom, $59 for the set). “All you need now is a macramé hanger.”

But there’s more than just home goods; Wilson chose some unexpected items for her flash sale, like a typewriter (top). “My husband is a typewriter fanatic,” she explains. “Wherever we go we seek out flea markets looking for them.”

The Malibu-raised star also paid homage to her roots by choosing a book titled The History of Surfing, because she’s a “true California girl at heart,” she shares.

Check out the rest of her selects in this week’s issue and head over to One Kings Lane to shop the sale — but hurry, it only lasts for 72 hours!
