It wasn’t yet Mother’s Day, but Emma Stone and Olivia Wilde spent some quality time with their leading ladies Saturday at the 15th Annual EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women in New York City. And the event — which has become one of the largest single-day fundraisers for women’s cancers in the U.S. — had special meaning for both stars.

“It’s an issue very close to my heart, having watched a loved one battle cancer and all of the emotions and the realities that it brings with it,” Stone told the crowd of more than 20,000. “My mom was diagnosed in October of 2008 with triple-negative breast cancer and she’s three and a half years clear now and she’s here today which is amazing and really, really special.”

When later asked about her mother, Krista, the star told PEOPLE, “[She’s] doing good, she is feeling good and my mom, my grandma, all of my mom’s friends are here. There are like 20 of us, it’s a family affair, lots of ladies.”

One of those ladies was fellow Revlon brand ambassador Wilde, who brought along her own mother, Leslie, as well.

“I have everyone I’ve ever met walking with me today,” Wilde joked. “I have my mother which is great, I have my girlfriends, I have my dear friend Connie who has breast cancer and is joining us today in between chemo sessions. She just had a double mastectomy [and] like so many of these women is proving that a diagnosis is not necessarily a death sentence. So I’m really excited.”

The actresses were both still quite excited when they hit the finish line; Wilde clocked in at one hour and seven minutes, while Stone and her mother came in around one hour and 20 minutes, stopping at the finish line to take a photo together to commemorate the big day. The EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women takes place in L.A. on Saturday, May 12.

Oh, I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to make you cry :) It is sad, but Mike is really an ulveniebable person who has a wonderful testimony surrounding all of this. He has told ‘his story’ many times in church & he can have the whole place laughing with him one minute & crying with him the next. And yes Aly, Shannyn does live on in a small way. Mike calls Gracie “Gracie Shannyn” when he’s goofing with her. Gracie is his whole world.
