Kate Bosworth Reveals Her Favorite Fashion Era

If Kate Bosworth had a time machine, she’d be living in the 1920s. “The fashion and the atmosphere looked so exciting,” she tells the U.K.’s Company magazine. “I’d love to play a role of someone from that era. I can’t wait for The Great Gatsby later this year.”
“It’s not so crazy that it’s unrelatable, but there’s something that’s always inspiring,” the actress says of British style. “My best friend and business partner Cher [Coulter] came out of [London's] Central Saint Martins — there are so many talented people who come out of that school, it’s incredibly impressive.”
Bosworth herself grew up with a fashion-forward role model: her dad. “He’s a former executive at Ermenegildo Zegna,” she explains. “I remember him telling me when I was at school that classic style won’t ever go out of fashion. At the time I thought, ‘You don’t know anything!'”
But age has changed her perspective. “He was very right and I still appreciate his advice now,” she admits.
Bosworth, who lists Chloé, Proenza Schouler and Theyskens’ Theory among her favorite labels, also keeps her wardrobe looking fresh with quarterly clean-outs. “I’ll give the things I haven’t worn or I’m not going to wear again to charity,” she shares. “I try not to hold on to things too preciously.” Note to Kate: We’ll take your handouts!
