Calvin Klein plus Macy’s plus Brazil? Sign us up! Macy’s today announced a new capsule collection, the limited edition “Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein” dress line, designed exclusively for the department store’s “A Magical Journey to Brasil” campaign.
Influenced by modern Brazilian architecture, the line’s dresses will come in colors like guava, orange clay and warm cocoa, inspired by the country’s “sunsets and natural environment,” according to a release. But they’ll still have that signature Calvin Klein touch, with neutral hues like marble, cement, steel, iron and black finding their way into the collection.
Costa, the women’s creative director of Calvin Klein Collection, was born in Brazil. “I am excited and proud to participate in Macy’s special campaign highlighting my native [country],” he said in a release. “This fresh, youthful line of dresses reflects both my roots and the modern, yet timeless spirit of Calvin Klein.” This marks the first time that Costa has designed a more affordable dress offering for a national retailer.
“A Magical Journey to Brasil” is Macy’s spring promotion, which spotlights Brazilian design and culture at the company’s various stores. Calvin Klein also contributed a full line of men’s and women’s apparel to the campaign, with vivid prints and bold colors seen in handbags, shoes, sunglasses, underwear and more.
Costa’s capsule collection will appear in more than 80 Macy’s stores nationwide and on macys.com beginning May 16; princes range from $135 to $180. Tell us: Are you excited about Francisco Costa for Macy’s?
