The Story Behind January Jones’s Colorful Highlights

What would Betty Draper say? January Jones arrived at the Mad Men PaleyFest panel in Los Angeles Tuesday night sporting a few pink streaks in her straight hair.

The next night, she turned up at the show’s fifth season premiere, her pink-tinged locks in tight curls. “It’s just my time to do something different and fun,” the new mom told InStyle.com of the look.

Though she’d originally requested “sunnier” highlights, according to the site, her colorist urged her to try the unconventional shade. “It sounded fun,” she continued. “We decided that they are rose gold highlights. Class it up a bit. I’m on hiatus so I can do what I want to [my hair].”

Pink is seemingly the hottest hair color of the season; Dakota Fanning, Lauren Conrad, Ashley Tisdale and Chloë Moretz have all added rosy highlights to their hair in recent months, too. Tell us: Would you add rose gold streaks to your hair?
