Buzz: Lourdes Leon Shaves Her Head

Leave it to Madonna‘s daughter to try a cool new look! Lourdes Leon stepped out on her way to school in New York Thursday, sporting a funky new half-shaved do. The stylish 15-year-old — who’s had long dark hair forever — had her hair up in a bun, bringing extra attention to the edgy style.

Leon hasn’t made drastic changes to her hair before, though she’s toyed with the idea. “I want royal blue hair but not a streak, like my entire head,” the teen designer wrote on her blog in December of 2010.

But at the time, she wasn’t so sure she’d get away with the change. “I read this blog aloud to my mother,” she continued, “and she is sitting here staring at me with no expression on her face, as if she doesn’t approve of it!” Wonder if Madonna gave this cut the OK? So, Kat, if someone expressed themself by cutting their body, would you follow suit? Just wondering. People that shave their heads, get tattoos, are not self expressing, they are craving attention. There’s a difference. There are other ways to “self express”, than body piercing’s, shaving, etc. If other’s are doing this exact same thing, then you are not expressing your individuality, just following suit. Expressing yourself, means that you do something totally unique to you, that no one else has done. None of the above apply.

LOLA….your hair color is beautiful. LOVE IT….you’ll blink and need to cover gray or white hairs popping up here and there.

People would PAY to have your dark gorgeous hair. Once you start to color it, your hair is NEVER the same again.

The mom in me absolutely cringes when I see this as I have a daughter with waist length hair, and I would be devestated if she did that. The rational part of me says it’s just hair, it grows back. Either way, Lourdes is a beautiful girl, and if this is how she shows her rebellion, then ok. (cringe)

She seems like a great kid with a good head on her shoulders….while other Hollywood kids are creating chaos, she keeps herself out of trouble. So, if she wants to express herself by coloring her hair blue, then why not?
