PHOTO: Zooey Deschanel’s Nails Are All Dressed Up for the Globes

She left the Golden Globes empty-handed — sorry, New Girl — but Zooey Deschanel’s hands were pretty happy anyway. Before hitting the red carpet, the actress posted a photo of her fingernails, which were all done up with bow ties and buttons.

“I am wearing a gown but my nails are wearing tuxedos!!!” she Tweeted, along with a picture of the nifty nail art. The star’s gown was a custom Prada dark-green silk dress with an open back; the top featured black and emerald-green glass pearls.

Though Deschanel’s critically acclaimed show didn’t win any awards, the newly single actress seemed to have a great time, arriving at the Globes with sister Emily (a new mom and the star of Bones) and hanging out with good pal and former costar, Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Very cute if she did them herself!!! Not so cute if she paid to have them done.

When she was being interviewed before the show, she was asked if she did them herself and she replied “No”. I believe she also said that an “artist” did them for her. Sorry, but I have to agree with the others that said it wasn’t a very professional looking job. The idea was certainly cute, but the the final outcome is not very good at all.
