Mila Kunis Is the Newest Face of Dior

Black Swan star Mila Kunis is spreading her wings, becoming the latest celebrity to join the Christian Dior family.

The actress’ first ads for the Miss Dior handbag — shot in New York by photographer Mikael Jansson — will debut internationally in Asian and European editions of ELLE, Vogue and Madame Figaro on Jan. 15. Appearances in U.S. media outlets will follow later in the month.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be working with Dior,” Kunis said in a statement. “The brand is iconic in so many ways. It defines fashion, elegance and sophistication.”

In signing with the French fashion house, Kunis joins Lady Dior handbags’ current face, Marion Cotillard (who will remain in her role), plus Black Swan costar Natalie Portman, the spokesmodel for Miss Dior Cherie perfume. Charlize Theron also models for Dior beauty and J’adore Dior fragrance, and Jude Law, Sophie Marceau and Sharon Stone have ties to the brand, as well. Now I know all fashion ads rely heavily on photoshop, but this has been edited so much she doesn’t even look like herself. In my opinion she actually looks worse. She looks strange and alien like, when usually she is so beautiful. What’s the point of hiring a celebrity for an ad when in the end they’re unrecognizable?

I like Mina Kunis, BUT, Dude! So sick of these 12 yo looking models being used to represent! They all look like children playing dress up in their mommy’s clothes. Would rather see a more sophisticated WOMAN! I don’t understand why they use celebrities in their ad campaigns. Does that really help their sales? Seeing an actress with the product or a random model is not going to make any difference to me.

She looks kind of stiff in the photos. Which is why a professional model might be the better choice!
