Kat Von D’s Clothing Line Isn’t What You Expect

When Kat Von D decided to design a fashion line, she knew people would have their preconceived notions. “It was easy to predict that most people would be pleasantly surprised by the sophistication of the line,” she tells PEOPLE. “By no means am I rebelling from my ‘tattoo roots,’ but I am showing the world what truly inspires me.”

Despite recent disappointments in the love department, the former L.A. Ink star says she is drawn to the topic. “The inspiration [for the line] varies from elements of nature to architecture, to love letters, and all things from time passed, with a modern romantic approach.”

The resulting collection, KvD Los Angeles, is comprised of wearable items including comfy harem pants, fringed tanks and structured outerwear. “I’ve become most attached to the highly tailored pieces, especially the coats,” she says, singling out the military-inspired “Napoleon” as her favorite.

How to Bring Bethenny Frankel, Mary-Kate and Ashley Into Your Home

It’s not just another celebrity sale: the ‘Goddess Adorned’ auction features fancy vases decorated with love by stars like Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Bethenny Frankel, Melissa Joan Hart and more. But just like your typical celebrity auction, funds raised benefit a very worthy cause: Housing Works, a charity working hard to eradicate homelessness.

The stars involved each received a limited-edition Gaia vase by Harry Allen, then used sparkling Swarovski Elements to personalize the vessels. Frankel used black and red crystals to give a “chic” representation of her Skinnygirl brand (left); the Olsens put their design skills to use by making a miniature blazer from Italian-sourced fabrics and pairing it with a feminine skirt to “dress” their vase; and Hart made a play on her last name, covering hers in deep red breaking hearts.

Check out all 15 vases — and place some bids! — on shop.housingworks.com through Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 10 p.m. ET.

Miley Cyrus Helps Her Big Bro Design T-shirts

Someone’s a good little sister! Miley Cyrus recently gave big bro Trace a hand, helping him create a T-shirt for his two-year-old Southern Made Hollywood Paid clothing line.

“We decided to create a shirt that represented my line, with some of Miley’s style added to it,” Trace said in a release. “The two of us had been talking about doing this for a while — it was just about getting the right design.”

Trace came up with the idea for the artwork, basing it on his sis. “I wanted to think of something that really reminded me of [her],” he said. So he chose to feature a dream catcher, reminiscent of Miley’s biggest tattoo, and an image he has tattooed on his body, as well. “It was something we were always around since childhood, because of the influence from our dad,” he shared.

The addition of a peace sign and Miley’s autograph complete the shirt. “It just felt appropriate to somehow incorporate,” Trace said of his sister’s signature.

Christian Siriano: Kate Middleton Makes Fashion ‘Look Very Effortless’

He’s dressed Taylor Swift, Heidi Klum and Rihanna, but there’s another famous lady Christian Siriano is dying to get his hands on: the Duchess of Cambridge.

And though his high-fashion frocks would look lovely on the newlywed, Siriano wouldn’t go too crazy if given the chance to dress her.

“I think she has become so chic and classic and sophisticated, and I would want to keep it that way,” he told PEOPLE recently at Waterford’s Live a Crystal Life party in New York. “That’s what I think is great about her — she’s not a daring [risk] taker but what she wears is beautiful and elegant. She makes it look very effortless, too, which I really like. I think that women should dress that way.”

While he hasn’t dressed Kate yet, there is one Kat he recently designed for: Katniss Everdeen, heroine of The Hunger Games trilogy. “I haven’t [read the books],” he admitted. “But everyone in my office has. So when I had to do this sketch, they had to explain to me the big scene, because I was like, ‘I don’t understand.’ They were telling me the story and everyone in the office was like, ‘Oh my god, it is amazing, you have to read every book.’”

So is the series on the star’s reading list? “I kind of have to read it now,” he said. “Maybe over the holidays I will.”

Britney Spears’s ‘Princess’ Engagement Ring: All the Details!

Britney Spears may be a pop-star diva to the rest of the world, but to beau Jason Trawick, “she’s his everyday princess,” says celebrity jeweler Neil Lane, who designed Spears’s dazzling engagement ring to befit Trawick’s vision of the singer’s down-home regality. “Jason is a romantic and when I asked him to tell me about Britney and what the ring would represent to them so I could find inspiration, his response was always the same — she is his princess!”

With that theme in mind, Lane tells PEOPLE he designed from scratch a tiara-motif sparkler with a round, perfect white diamond in a handmade platinum setting that “looks like a mini crown,” the celebrated jeweler says. He also added 90 small round diamonds around the eternity band. “Jason didn’t want an over-the-top ring with a giant stone,” he adds.
