Women Get In on Charity Moustache Madness with ‘Defember’

True, we don’t love to talk about it, but sometimes it happens: upper lip hair. That dark, pesky ‘misstache’ that’s not so flattering can be a pain — though often a necessity — to disguise or remove.

To make the process a little more enjoyable, Olay is making a play on the popular Movember charity movement and talking up Defember, a campaign encouraging women to defuzz for a cause. For every woman who visits Olay’s Facebook page and pledges to nix her misstache this month, the brand will donate one dollar (up to $50,000) to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

A slew of celebrities — including Jenny McCarthyKourtney Kardashian, LaLa Anthony and Real Housewives star Kelly Bensimon — are already in on the fun, and have pledged their support through silly TwitPics they created using Olay’s MISStache Swap Facebook app. Learn more — and lend your support to the cause — at olay.com/defember.

Jill Zarin Bought Elizabeth Taylor’s $19K Ring for ‘Good Karma’

Elizabeth Taylor famously told the world what a “lucky girl” she was when she looked at her jewels. Former Real Housewives of New York star Jill Zarin says she feels just as lucky now that she owns one of them.

Zarin’s husband, Bobby, bought several items his bride picked out at the record-breaking $153 million Elizabeth Taylor auction at Christie’s New York last week, including a light-blue gemstone ring designed by famed jeweler Zorhab Istanboulian. He also bought her a 14-karat gold pillbox from Van Cleef & Arpels, bearing the inscription, “To Elizabeth With Love” on one end and POKER ALICE, the name of her 1987 TV movie with George Hamilton, elsewhere.

Zarin wouldn’t say what her hubby paid for the items, but a rep at Christie’s confirmed that the final bid for the Zorab ring — featuring an ornate, multi-gemstone setting — was $19,000. The final bid for the pillbox, which houses a compartment set with red and blue cabochon stones, was $8,000.

Wilmer Valderrama is putting his laidback style to use, helping change the world one T-shirt at a time. The self-proclaimed “black T-shirt guy” sits on the board of advisors at This Shirt Helps, a new clothing brand that aims to give back in the style of TOMS Shoes.

“It’s one of those really feel-good brands that I think could really, really help,” Valderrama tells PEOPLE. “The common goal is to create a somewhat global-helping approach to business.”

Proceeds from every T-shirt sold at ThisShirtHelps.com go toward the buyer’s choice of charitable act: to the ASPCA save a single animal; to provide clean water for one year via Waves 4 Water; allowing Plant with Purpose to plant three trees; or funding one month of school via Pencils of Promise.

“I’m one of those guys who’s like, ‘OK, what is the money really gonna go toward?’” says Valderrama of the brand’s decision to show contributions in measurable amounts of help provided per shirt purchased, rather than percentages of profit donated. But there’s a method to the madness.

On Glee, Naya Rivera plays fresh-faced cheerleader beauty Santana Lopez — but away from the cameras, the actress admits it has taken a lot to achieve her picture-perfect look.

“I had really bad skin for awhile earlier this year,” Rivera said Tuesday on the set of her Proactiv shoot, where she revealed to PEOPLE exclusively that she is the brand’s new spokesperson. “It sort of just came out of nowhere. It was like adult acne, and I was like, I’ve had great skin my entire life. How am I dealing with this now at 24?”

The actress says once her problem surfaced, filming FOX’s hit show became less comfortable.

Jessica Simpson Introduces ‘Signature’ Studs

Jessica Simpson Zales Jewelry Collection

When Jessica Simpson slaps her name on something, that something usually sells. It’s no coincidence, then, that the shrewd businesswoman, whose fortune is estimated at nearly $1 billion, knew exactly how to infuse a fine jewelry line for Zales with a little bit of Jessica.

The Jessica Simpson Fine Jewelry collection — featuring earrings, rings, bracelets and more — includes a variety of butterfly-shaped designs based on the star’s handwriting. (The line’s signature butterfly: a mirror image of the ‘J’ in Jessica’s signature, as visible in the butterfly stud earrings, left.)

“This collection has allowed me to create pieces that truly reflect who I am,” Simpson says in a release. The pieces “can become a keepsake for life.” Ranging in price from $79-$799, the line is available exclusively at Zales stores nationwide and Zales.com. We think everything she touches turns to gold (or silver!), but want to hear from you. Tell us: Will you be buying Simpson’s ‘signature’ studs?

After refusing to wear makeup in We Bought a Zoo, Scarlett Johnasson reveals that when she’s not portraying a character, she’s actually quite fond of putting on a face.

“I always like to put a little bit of makeup on,” she tells Style.com. “I’m not the kind of person that just slops around in sweatpants. I like to feel a little more together — you never know who you’re going to see out there!”

“My absolute must-have is a really rich and vibrant red lipstick,” she reveals of the look that has become synonymous with her red-carpet bombshell motif. “I always keep red lipstick in my bag because I never know when I might show up to an event and be completely underdressed. I feel like red lipstick is the cure-all for everything.”
