Katy Perry Goes Back to Blonde — and Her Stylist Gives us the Scoop

Katy Perry cracked jokes like a pro on Saturday Night Live this weekend, but it seems the singer is also becoming a pro at changing her hair color these days, too. This year alone she’s gone from black to red to blonde to lavender, and now, she’s switched back to blonde, debuting the look Saturday on SNL.

Perry’s colorist, Rita Hazan, loves her latest look. “She wanted to do something different — an easy, effortless honey blonde,” she tells PEOPLE. “She’s having fun with her hair color now, which I love.”

The star also chopped several inches off of her hair last week, rocking what Hazan calls “a really edgy bob.” To complement the cut, she left the ends of Perry’s hair “a little bit darker” to give her some depth. “We didn’t want it too solid or boxy,” she explains. “She has to work something that’s cool.”

Gifts to Give: Knit Caps by Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett Johansson Hat

There’s a lot to love about Neff‘s “Hope” beanies: they’re soft; proceeds from sales benefit charity; and they were co-designed by Scarlett Johansson. The actress helped create the khaki and black hats in partnership with City of Hope, one of the nation’s leading cancer research and treatment centers. For each $25 beanie purchased on zappos.com, Neff will donate one beanie to a City of Hope patient or survivor — up to 5,000 in total — and thereafter, will donate 10 percent of sales from each topper to the organization, up to $20,000. “I helped with the hope that every purchase might make a cancer patient feel a bit more comfortable during his or her treatments, and look cool and be cozy all the while,” Johansson said in a release. “The beanies are eco-friendly, too, so they’re as nice to the earth as they are to the person wearing them.” Grab one while supplies last on zappos.com.

‘Big Bang Theory’ Star Kaley Cuoco Co-designs ‘Dream’ Denim

“I am a jeans lover,” says Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco. “I literally live in them. So I wanted them to be as comfortable as they make me feel.” The actress searched high and low for her perfect pair, but was never able to find them. So when Raven Denim creative director Yael Torbati asked her to co-design a pair for the brand, she jumped at the chance.

Now available online, the “Kaley” skinny jeans ($193) come in dark olive or jet and feature zipper details. “It’s very clean and sexy, a perfect skinny to dress up or down,” Torbati says, adding that Cuoco was the perfect guest designer. “We selected [her] for her casual offbeat charm and cool, approachable style.”

For every pair of “Kaley” skinnies sold, Raven will donate 20 percent of proceeds to the Friends of Animal Foundation. “It wasn’t a tough choice,” Cuoco, an animal lover, says of selecting the charity. “We have to give a voice to the creatures that don’t have one.”

Actor Brian Austin Green created two men’s styles to benefit the Friends of Animals Foundation, as well; find his designs on ravendenim.com.

Olivia Palermo Believes Anyone Can Dress Up on a Dime

Olivia Palermo is a whiz at mixing designer buys with lower-end pieces (much like Heidi Klum), and put her talents to work in New York City Thursday night during a styling event at Topshop. The fashionista, wearing head-to-toe Topshop, her own jewels and a turban, dressed several mannequins for the holidays, and talked about her talents with a group of chic admirers.

“During the holidays it gets so cold, and you don’t always want to go out and be freezing in a dress,” she told PEOPLE before the event. “So I really tried to focus on how to wear pants.” Her trick? “Obviously it’s masculine, but add a feminine touch with accessories, and really go to the next level with some hats.”

Since she’ll be in New York for the holidays, Palermo — who’s currently working as a Piperlime guest editor and recently launched her own blog — plans to wear her Stuart Weitzman 50/50 boots “all winter long,” while continuing what she calls her “Topshop obsession.” “It’s about catching your eye,” she said of mixing high- and low-end looks. “I think the wonderful thing about High Street especially is that you can look fashionable on a budget — there’s something for everyone. You can incorporate basics into your own wardrobe without breaking the bank.”

Amanda Seyfried’s Hair Advice: ‘Don’t Wash It!’

Nearly a year after being named the face of Clé de Peau Beauté, Amanda Seyfried is still singing the Japanese beauty brand’s praises.

“I’m really scared of the sun,” the fair-skinned star, who adheres to a strict skincare routine, tells Stylelist. “During the day, I use the Gentle Protective Emulsion moisturizer with SPF,” she details. “And I don’t go to bed without putting on La Crème. It smells really good and when I wake up, I know my face is going to feel really good.”

To juxtapose her alabaster complexion, Seyfried relies on the brand’s darker lipsticks and eye-opening mascaras. “Clé de Peau’s Mascara keeps my eyelashes curled even though they’re really straight,” she gushes.

But the secret to her doll-like look lies in the perfectly tousled hair, of course. “Don’t wash it!,” she recommends. “I wash my hair every three days which is something I would’ve never imagined years ago, but I also use dry shampoo and my hair is even healthier.”
