Jessica Simpson: I’ve Learned from My Style Mistakes

Jessica Simpson may be one of the pros on NBC’s upcoming show Fashion Star, but she admits her own style choices haven’t always been the best.

“There are a lot of things I’ve worn and look back on and think, ‘Oh, my,’” the mom-to-be recently told PEOPLE. “When it comes to beauty, I think a big misconception is the tanner you are, the more beautiful you are. It’s not always true. I look back on a lot of pictures where I’m really tan, and I’m like, ‘Whoa!’”

But Simpson has only learned from her mistakes — and they’ve inspired her to strive to keep her Jessica Simpson line of shoes and apparel impeccable.

“I’m in all those meetings,” she said. “I know the zipper pulls, I know what you’re going to be purchasing next spring. I know what’s going to be trending. It’s really fun to take all those meetings and try and play great guessing games of what the public’s going to buy.”

Blink and You’ll Miss It: Beyoncé Reveals Her Wedding Gown

Her 2008 wedding to now-husband Jay-Z was a closely guarded secret, but Beyoncé is revealing a glimpse of the big day — a two-second glimpse — in her new video for the emotional single “I Was Here.”

Toward the end of the four-and-a-half-minute clip, which appears on vevo.com, the singer shares brief front and back shots of her flowing white wedding dress, which has never been seen publicly. The exaggerated sweetheart gown appears to have an elaborate fitted back with layers of fine fabric and a long train.

Exclusive First Look: Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin for M.A.C Viva Glam

The wait is over! Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin’s first ad for M.A.C’s Viva Glam campaign is out — and as expected, it’s pretty sexy (just like its stars). The singers — and their ride — were photographed in Miami in July by David LaChapelle, and their Viva Glam products, the sales from which benefit the M.A.C AIDS Fund, hit counters in February 2012.

Minaj and Martin follow in the footsteps of some very major past Viva Glam spokespeople, Lady Gaga, Cyndi Lauper and Fergie among them. Skater Johnny Weir was also announced as a new face of the brand in June.

To date, the M.A.C AIDS Fund has raised more than $224 million exclusively through the sale of its Viva Glam lip products, with 100 percent of the sale price going to fight HIV/AIDS. Are You Loving Kerry Washington’s False Eyelashes?

Dramatic lashes are practically a prerequisite for walking the red carpet — or if you’re Kim Kardashian, for any time you leave the house. They really make eyes pop in photos and pair nicely with dramatic makeup and fancy gowns. (Wish we had more occasions for both of those!)

But Kerry Washington took the usual theatrical fringe to new lengths last week while attending the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in New York, sporting extra-long, spidery lashes that nearly touched her brows. Since the rest of her look was quite natural, we don’t think the lashes went too over-the-top, but want to know what you think.

Chloë Moretz Lusts After Blake Lively’s Louboutins

Not every 14-year-old gets to spend an evening with Drew Barrymore, Blake Lively, Emma Stone and Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld at New York’s Museum of Modern Art. But that’s how Chloë Moretz spent her Tuesday night — albeit with her mother in tow.

“Mom’s a pretty good date,” the actress told PEOPLE before Tuesday’s star-studded tribute to director Pedro Almodóvar. “We look exactly alike and she’s beautiful.”

Moretz’s ensemble was also beautiful: the rising star wore a sparkly black-and-blush Chanel number and black heels. But the outfit came with a couple of complications. “I had to be sewn into it,” Moretz admitted. “There are no clips in the back and these aren’t real buttons.”

The Kick-Ass star has had her fair share of sartorial milestones since hitting the scene: she’s been dressed by just about every big-name designer, and even won an award for her fashion sense at last week’s Hollywood Style Awards. But a major highlight for the teen was trying on Hick costar Blake Lively‘s Christian Louboutins.
