The Versace for H&M collection hits stores in just two weeks (are you camping out yet?) and with excitement building, designer Donatella Versace is again speaking out about the line. In an interview with Style.com/Print, the couturier says, “it is amazing how H&M has taken these icons of Versace to make the pieces in this collection.”

One dress that “will always be so special” to Versace is the black leather studded frock (above and below, right). “It was the dress I wore to take my bow at the Versace menswear show this summer, the day before we announced our collaboration with H&M to the world,” she recalls. “It was so exciting, everybody was saying how good I looked, and nobody knew it was H&M!”

Alexander McQueen Found Inspiration in ‘Friends’

Alexander McQueen was inspired by a lot in life — his homeland, dark films and memories — but as it turns out, he drew some ideas from the Central Perk crew, too.

“I remember him saying to me, ‘I watched Friends last night, did you see the shirt that Joey was wearing?’” McQueen creative director Sarah Burton recalls in a chat with lanecrawford.com. “But then, he would get a [Jan] van Eyck book out, so it was this kind of mad mix.”

Burton has many fond memories of her former colleague, actually named Lee McQueen, who committed suicide in February of 2010. “He had a hilarious sense of humor, very normal and not fashion-y. And he had a really brilliant, dirty wicked laugh that was kind of infectious.” Even his pup was friendly — though mischievous. “Lee’s dog used to eat my packed lunch out of my bag,” she recalls.

Get the Look: Brooke Charvet’s Long Waves

When Brooke Charvet said goodbye to David Arquette on this week’s Dancing with the Stars, she did so while sporting a smile — and some seriously pretty hair. Tuesday, the hostess wore her long brunette locks in loose waves, a look we really love.

Just like last week, we asked the stylists at Hotheads how to achieve her look at home. They recommend using an iron like the Enzo Milano Conico iron, which comes with a convenient heatproof glove. And though there are several ways to emulate her waves, the easiest is to follow these steps from stylist Sheenon Olson:

Blake Lively was swept off her feet by another man on Tuesday night: designer Christian Louboutin. Lively, along with stars like Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Calvin Klein and Tyrese, came out to Barneys New York to fête the legendary shoe designer on the 20th anniversary of his collection.

“They are the most beautiful shoes out there,” Lively told PEOPLE of Louboutin’s scarlet-soled creations. “And incredibly innovative.” Wearing her own pair of splatter-paint snakeskin stilettos, the Gossip Girl star said “it’s embarrassing” how many pairs of the heels she owns. But she’s not alone: more than 200 fashion lovers toasted the designer Tuesday and waited patiently as he autographed copies of his new self-titled book. When he signed Klein’s tome, he wrote, “For my dear, Calvin.”

Michelle Williams’s Short Hair Is in ‘Memorial of Somebody Who Really Loved It’

She’s rocked her super-short hairstyle for a while now, and Michelle Williams says she’s not planning to lengthen her locks in the near future.

“What [daughter] Matilda would love is for her mum to grow out the cropped hair,” the actress tells Elle U.K. “Though that’s unlikely to happen any time soon.”

Though Matilda might not be happy with mom’s hair, Williams believes she’s “really grown into” her pixie cut. “I feel like myself with short hair,” she says. “And it’s been a really long time since I had long hair, five years.”

Williams reveals that her decision to go short was an intensely personal one, possibly in tribute to her former partner, Heath Ledger. “I cut it for the one straight man who has ever liked short hair,” she says, “and I wear it in memorial of somebody who really loved it.”

Sarah Jessica Parker’s Hat: Love It or Hate It?

Sarah Jessica Parker‘s sartorial choices are usually spot-on, but sometimes even the most flawless fashionista has a miss. That’s what appears to have happened to the I Don’t Know How She Does It star on Wednesday during an interview at a ladies luncheon at the Palladium in Melbourne, Australia.

Wearing a bronze Chanel tweed dress and Manolo Blahnik pumps, according to Red Carpet Fashion Awards, Parker chose to accessorize with a Philip Treacy hat that, while a work of art, possibly overwhelmed her small stature. Treacy, a famed British milliner, was responsible for several hats at the royal wedding in April, and recently helped elect the Duchess of Cambridge as the U.K.’s best-dressed star.

Down Under to support her latest film and celebrate the Melbourne Cup Carnival, Parker has stayed dependably stylish during this latest press tour — just as she did while promoting the movie throughout the U.S. and Europe earlier this year. So the hat — while possibly controversial to style watchers — is likely just a small mark on her otherwise top-notch fashion report card. Tell us: What do you think of Parker’s hat?
