Emma Stone, who consistently charms fashion critics with her cheeky-glam red carpet choices, says finding her own look took some trial and error.

“There was a time where I could not stand the pale,” the newly-minted face of Revlon admits to Stylelist of growing up fair-skinned. “It’s built into my DNA to think tan is incredible.” Taking matters into her own hands, she spent years trying to spackle together a convincing glow: “It was like a splotchy, streaky mess of a situation.”

Now, at 23 years old, Stone has mastered the basics. “Probably the top three things would be: moisturize, sleep and work on the eyebrows,” she tells BellaSugar. “Those are the three things I try to focus on in my daily life!”

And with newfound access to beauty bounty, her list of favorite things continues to grow. “They let you try out all of these products,” she gushes of working with Revlon. “Grow Luscious [mascara] was the first one that I was kind of like, okay this one is not leaving me.” Other must-haves include a spectrum of punchy pink lip colors — a beauty trend with which she is often credited for reviving. “I never know the shade name so it would be hard to tell you my favorite, but I love fuchsias and really, really bright pinks,” she shares.

However, her all-time favorite beauty moment had to be showing up at the 2011 Golden Globes with an expertly-applied tan, platinum blonde locks and palpable confidence. “I didn’t even look like myself; I looked like an alien. I looked like a different person,” she muses before adding, “That’s really a nice feeling!”

She is beautiful no matter what she thinks!

She’s one of the VERY FEW young actors in Hollywood with talent. She definitely has a long career ahead of her.

Emma is so cute and so very sweet! I wonder if she’d go 2 Las Vegas and see Garethe Brooks with me? Knight Rider was goode with David Hollselfhoff… But Emma knows I luv her like Jem Carey! We both have a jinger krush! – Mando

If that’s what the aliens looks like, Beam me up!

she’s unique. she has a different look to her. she actually looks prettier as a redhead than a blonde. i’ve seen and heard her on many talk shows and she doesn’t sound awkward or dittsy. she can actually put more than two sentences together without sounding inane, unlike some so called starlets. and she can act too.

You all can feel free to be hateful, I’m sure Emma isn’t spending her nights reading these comments! I have no idea what you look like, but I think that you feel the need to post that she is unattractive makes you green-eyed monsters.

I know exactly how she feels about her fair skin -people always joke about how extraordinarily white I am; I’ve just learned to joke and say that I’m not white, I’m reflective. With age comes acceptance (sometime in your 20’s). Regardless, she’s a beautiful woman.

It’s quite sad that she isn’t considered beautiful because of her fair skin. As a fair skinned person, I believe that the riducule that fair skinned people receive is a form of racism. The Black communtiy is plagued with isseus of skin tone, with lighter being considered more beautiful, but people don’t realize that the White community is too and fair skinned peoople are always at the end of jokes and ridiculous questions. Sad, but true.

While other people focus on their spouses, raising their children and working in their daily lives, Emma focuses on moisture, sleep and working on the eyebrows. Incredible.

The headline is so misleading, she is saying she looks like an “alien” in terms of different than usual through make-up, read her quote. “People” always tell a different story with their headlines than with the article, it’s so annoying!

From the first moment I saw her in The Help, I said to myself”This girl is special. She has an acting ability that is superb and she is so enchanting and beautiful.” I wish her so much luck in the industry. We definitely need more talented people like Emma to come along.
