Are You Loving Victoria Justice’s Jeweled Headpiece?

Victoria Justice HeadbandAmanda Schwab/Startraks

You could say we’re obsessed with hair accessories — and for good reason. They make the simplest bun look dressy, are a quick fix for a bad hair day and keep bangs at bay. Our stash includes everything from simple barrettes and beaded headbands to crystal-encrusted combs and more.

Since our tastes veer toward the traditional, we took notice when Victoria Justice went out recently wearing an abstract, jeweled “worm fossil” piece by Mr. Kate that encircled her head and rested in the middle of her forehead. On one hand, it’s sort of edgy and cool (perfect for a young actress like the Victorious star) but we’re not sure how we feel about its vaguely medieval vibe. What do you think?

Troy Polamalu’s Wax Figure Has Lots (and Lots) of Hair

Troy Polamalu HairCourtesy Head & Shoulders

Troy Polamalu’s wax likeness is in a hairy situation: it has twice the tresses of any wax figure Madame Tussauds has ever created. The new statue, unveiled at Madame Tussauds New York this week, features the Pittsburgh Steelers star’s signature curls, as well as his uniform (and similar hair visitors can try on).

“It’s kind of weird to see your face, your body from a different perspective,” Polamalu tells PEOPLE. “Just looking at it from a distance, it’s pretty surreal.”

The figure follows last year’s news that the athlete’s voluminous hair was insured by Head & Shoulders for $1 million. “What’s so funny is that football players get insurance on themselves, too, for career-ending knee injuries, or head injuries, and I just had gotten my football insurance, and then we used the same company, Lloyd’s of London, for my hair,” he explains.

Get the Look: Brooke Charvet’s Romantic ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Curls

Brooke Burke Dancing with the Stars HairAdam Taylor/ABC

Ricki Lake earned a near-perfect score on Monday night’s Dancing with the Stars, but it was Brooke Charvet‘s perfect hairstyle that caught our attention. The hostess wore her long locks in a Veronica Lake ’40s-inspired style, with curls falling over her shoulders.

So just like last week, we asked the stylists at Hotheads how to achieve her look at home. Just follow these steps from stylist Sheenon Olson:

1. Part your hair on the left or right side, your choice.

2. Use a wide curling iron to create barrel curls. Be sure to keep the curls intact; don’t break them apart (Charvet’s curls were “never disturbed,” Olson says). And keep you iron horizontal while styling — this will give you the cascading curls that inspired the hairstyle.

That’s Hot: Ellen DeGeneres Creates a Keith Urban Fragrance Commercial

Have you created a commercial for Keith Urban‘s Phoenix cologne yet? We don’t want to scare you … but you may have some competition. Ellen DeGeneres got into the game this week, creating a spoof ad with Urban and airing it on her show.

The country crooner keeps his cool as the talk show hostess spritzes him with water, cools him with ice and, well, gets very touchy-feely. The ad even comes with its own tagline: “Phoenix: It’s Hot.”

After the clip aired, Urban joked, “You know that you’re the only woman that would be okay with my wife, doing that.” DeGeneres’s reply? “I don’t know, she may get jealous of that.”
