She must be on Santa’s good list! Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr has been chosen by the brand to model the iconic Fantasy Treasure Bra — a $2.5 million diamond-studded piece — in the Christmas Dreams & Fantasies catalogue and during the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in November.

“It’s such an honor to wear the bra,” Kerr tells PEOPLE. “And it’s such a piece of artwork! It’s absolutely stunning — it kind of feels a little mermaid-like — but I can’t believe I’m wearing $2.5 million on my chest.”

The aqua push-up brassiere, created in part by Long Island’s London Jewelers, is handset with nearly 3,400 precious gems, including 142 carats of white and yellow diamonds, pearls, faceted citrines and aquamarines, all set in 18-karat white and yellow gold. The centerpiece features two white diamonds — each more than 8 carats — and two 14-plus-carat yellow diamonds.

“We put a lot of love into this bra,” jeweler Candy Udell tells PEOPLE. Adds daughter Randi, “We put a lot of our most favorite elements into it, such as the tassel — it’ll be wonderful with her walking down the runway, the tassel swinging with her body. We thought about the runway show, and what would catch everyone’s attention.”

The runway show will be a very special moment for Kerr: aside from wearing the Fantasy Treasure Bra, she’ll be returning to the Victoria’s Secret catwalk after taking a one-year hiatus while she was pregnant with son Flynn. “It’s very special,” she says of rejoining the show. “And now I feel better than ever. I feel healthier than I’ve ever felt. It was wonderful to have a bit of time off after I was pregnant and having Flynn. But now I’m back in the swing of things and it feels good.”

In fact, you could say it feels really good. “I feel like more than $1 million,” she jokes. “I feel like $2.5 million.”

It is a work of art. There are many examples where people (even government ) spent lot of money which has no economic benefit. So, there should not be any issue with this piece of creation.

The bra is not for sale it is just for show. and she is not nearly as skinny as most of the models, she is a very beautiful lady, and she is doing her job, and it is a privalige to wear the Bra for the fashion show.

It’s not HER bra. She is just modeling it… which is her job. I wish I could look that beautiful after having a baby. I wish her the best of luck in her career as well as motherhood. (It has to be a good life being married to Orlando. Yum!)

I knew before even reading the comments, they would be filled with “how dare them”, “you could feed how many starving children?” so on and so on. Here’s an idea…use the money you’re paying for the internet service you’re using now and donate it to the homeless/starving. It isn’t a NEED it’s a WANT.
On the other hand, she didn’t purchase this bra, nor do they expect anyone else to. It is just a very expensive “prop”. But because she is beautiful and rich, people have to bash her to feel better about themselves.

I am not a know-it-all or a super genius by any measure, but some of the comments on this article really are foolish. Let me try to clear this up…. the bra is WORTH $2.5 million. Nowhere in this article does it say its ‘for sale’. Next, fashion is an art form, and the reason for the creation of the bra is for art and entertainment. Next, for the folks complaining about the ‘cost’ of the bra and where else that ‘money’ could have been applied; let’s think about this logically. The bra did not ‘cost’ $2.5 million dollars to be made. Again, the precious stones are WORTH that much in a monetary equivalent and so there wasn’t actually $2.5 million dollars SPENT on the bra that could have been applied elsewhere in the world.
Next, why is it that people are so quick to assume that they know everything about everything. How do you NOT know for example that the proceeds of such a bra, if it were ever ‘for sale’, say at an auction, would not be partially given to various charities. The point is, you don’t know, you just make unfounded judgments that unfortunately do not make sense.
Please open your minds and allow for some rational thoughts to be produced before making such ridiculous comments about this woman’s modeling career, or any other basic situation.
