Julianne Hough: The Boots 'Were the Best Part' of 'Footloose'
She may “kick off her Sunday shoes” in the upcoming remake of Footloose, but in reality, star Julianne Hough didn’t want to take her shoes off during filming at all.
“The boots were the best part, actually,” Hough told reporters Monday night at the film’s Los Angeles premiere. “I love the red [Taylor Pull-On] boots (above) more than anything. I have them now. I wore all Levi’s jeans … it was awesome. I loved my wardrobe in [the movie].”
Frye provided boots for the film — about 20 pairs for main characters and extras — and according to a company spokesperson, they became an integral part of Hough’s character. “They were so comfortable,” the actress said. “Way better than ballroom shoes.”
Hough especially loved wearing the kicks during the film’s big cowboy dance scene. “My mom and three sisters are in it, so it’s really fun to see that,” she revealed. But the number definitely took some practice. “I had done country line dancing, but not the way we do it,” she said. “That is some serious, sexy line dancing!”
Catch Footloose in theaters on Oct. 14.
