Michael Kors’s Runway Show Draws Positive Reviews — and a Star-Studded Front Row

Michael Kors must have had vacation on the brain when he created his men’s and women’s spring 2012 collections, filled with safari-inspired looks in both bold and neutral hues.

“It was fun,” Michael Douglas told PEOPLE after the show. “I liked the crocheted [garments] a lot. The gowns, and the colors … he just makes it look like fun. It doesn’t look pressed or pushed too far.”

The actor, who said he’s “spent a lot of time in Africa,” connected with the clothes, too. “I got a kick out of it,” he shared. “And the zebra patterns are always fun. I really liked the materials that he was using. It looked like he had actually worked it.”

Would You Wear Lots of Colorful Makeup, Like Rihanna?

Rihanna Makeup
Tom Donoghue/PictureGroup

Rihanna is known as a fashion risk-taker, and she usually manages to pull off whatever out-there outfit she’s sporting. So while her eye-popping red hair would look clownish on lesser celebs, we thought the singer looked pretty cool — and kind of miss it now that she’s back to brunette.

The problem with sporting such a bold shade on your head, though, is that you really have to be conscious about toning down the rest of your look by wearing neutral colors on your eyes, lips and cheeks. But Rihanna is not one for following the rules, so she went out wearing a veritable rainbow: turquoise eye shadow and bright crimson lipstick, which matched her hair.

As per the usual, if anyone can make this look work, it’s Rihanna, but we want to know: Would you wear this many bright colors?

Another Day, Another Jenner: Kendall Hits the Catwalk for Sherri Hill

Kendall Jenner Sherri Hill Show

First Kylie, now Kendall: the elder Jenner sister made her runway debut at New York Fashion Week on Wednesday, just two days after little sis Kylie took to the catwalk for Avril Lavigne‘s Abbey Dawn show.

Kendall strutted her stuff at Trump Tower for Sherri Hill, a dress designer she’s modeled for in the past. “It felt amazing. I’m definitely going to be doing it again,” she told PEOPLE after the show.

Though she received a lot of praise, Jenner admitted, “I was really nervous and worried about falling.” But the loud applause from the front row courtesy of her big sisters, Kim and Kourtney Kardashian, made her feel “great.” Afterward, a proud Kim spilled her reaction, Tweeting, “Wow my little sis @kendalljenner faced her fears & killed it tonight on the runway!!!”

While Kendall admitted she “loved” hearing her sisters’ screams — “it made me feel better when I was walking,” she shared — she also tried to keep her focus. “I kind of tune out the people because I don’t like crowds that much,” she said.

Though Olivia Munn said she’d “much rather” go to Sunday’s Emmy Awards in “J Brand jeans and wedges,” she’s planning to look quite ladylike as she walks the red carpet Sunday. Speaking to reporters at Dylan’s Candy Bar last week during Rockport’s Fashion’s Night Out bash, the I Don’t Know How She Does It actress revealed she’d be wearing Carolina Herrera on the big night.

“I get to look at the spring line and try them on after,” Munn said, adding that she would be attending the awards with her Daily Show costars, nominated for outstanding variety, music or comedy series. “I got to see Carolina Herrera’s office today … that was amazing. So pretty.”

Herrera’s aesthetic is a perfect fit for Munn, who said she likes clothes that are “ladylike, pulled together and effortless. I don’t always achieve that, but that’s what I like.”

Meet the Fashion World’s Breakout Star, Model Andrej Pejic

At the Jeremy Scott fashion show at New York’s Milk Studios on Wednesday, model Andrej Pejic glided down the runway in a summery pink ensemble, blond waves flowing as the cameras clicked. And though Pejic looked just like every other girl on the catwalk, the up-and-comer is actually a male, able to work both sides of the fashion industry thanks to his striking, androgynous look.

Pejic, the subject of a recent New York magazine profile, was born in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, but spent most of his youth in Australia. “I was scouted in Australia,” he told PEOPLE backstage at the Jeremy Scott show, adding that he considers the country his home.

After signing with Storm Models, his career took off: he walked in runway shows for John Galliano, Jean Paul Gaultier and Paul Smith, appeared in French and Italian Vogue and in 2011, signed on as the face of Marc by Marc Jacobs. “It’s good, I think,” he said of his meteoritic rise in the modeling world, which is reportedly leading to movie offers. “We’ll see what happens.”
