Kristin Cavallari's Shoe Sense: 'The Higher the Heel the Better'
She may be busy in the ballroom on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, but Kristin Cavallari is never too swamped to talk stilettos! “I really like to mix it up, especially with shoes and accessories,” she tells PEOPLE of her aesthetic. “No matter the type of shoe, I can find an outfit to pair it with and honestly can’t think of a type of shoe I wouldn’t want to add to my closet.”
The reality star was recently announced as a guest editor for Chinese Laundry, and will bring her relatable fashion savvy to the shoe brand’s site via videos, styling tips and product picks starting this fall.
And while Cavallari actually created a shoe for online retailer ShoeDazzle in the spring, she says that doesn’t make her a pro — just an admirer. “I don’t consider myself to be an expert but I’m obsessed with shoes and think they complete every outfit,” she shares. “Having designed a shoe, I now know what makes a shoe great. There are a lot [more] little details that go into making shoes than you’d think.”
Like any girly girl, Cavallari loves a sky-high stiletto. “I think the higher the heel the better,” she says. “Platforms are my favorite, but I’ve actually just recently started to also love ballet flats.”
And twirling in such heels in front of a live audience? Not a problem! “Dancing in heels hasn’t been difficult because the heel is only two inches,” says the maybe-single star, who’s rocked Chinese Laundry flats after DWTS practices. “I’m used to much taller heels so these are a piece of cake.”
