And you thought New York Fashion Week was a big deal! London Fashion Week is in full swing, and so far, the shows have impressed, offering star-studded front rows, technological advances and even a near-royal visit. Check out some of the highlights from the week’s biggest shows.

Burberry Prorsum

Promising a starry front row at London Fashion Week, the Burberry Prorsum show on Monday (above, left) did not disappoint. Sienna Miller, Kanye West and a current face of the brand, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, sat alongside Rachel Zoe, Gemma Arterton, tennis star Andy Murray, singer Paul Weller and photographer Mario Testino at Christopher Bailey’s spring/summer 2012 show in Kensington Gardens. Tribal-inspired print dresses were paired with cropped trenches and raffia caps in a collection that put a handcrafted artisan twist on ladylike chic.

“Oh my God, that was insanity!” gushed Zoe to PEOPLE as she headed backstage. “[Bailey is] amazing. I mean, who else makes a coat like that?” she added, referring to the “reinvention” of the classic Burberry trench.

Greeting his celebrity guests backstage, Bailey got a hug from photographer pal Testino, who told PEOPLE, “I thought it was a great show — sexy sexy sexy!” As no doubt did legions of fans who caught the show via Twitter, a first for the digital-friendly brand. “This collection is all about the most detailed hand-crafted pieces and fabric innovation, creating a beautiful physical experience that is communicated digitally in dynamic and diverse ways and I love balancing those two worlds,” said Bailey.

Temperley London

Meanwhile, Temperley London (above, center) got the royal seal of approval on Monday night when Pippa Middleton showed up to support one of her favorite British designers. Wearing the “classic fan dress” from the label’s current autumn/winter collection dressed down with black suede ankle boots, the rising fashion star certainly appeared to enjoy the show as she sat with a friend, pointing out her favorite pieces from the silver-screen inspired collection, shown in the British Museum’s dramatic grand atrium. (Grace Kelly was cited as an inspiration by the designer, as was Michelle Pfeiffer’s character in Scarface.)

As for Pippa, she seemed to love the silky jumpsuits, kimono capes and floor-sweeping dresses adorned in beads and tassels, all of which were accessorized with über-glam head wraps. “It was really special, really amazing,” she said, congratulating designer Alice Temperley’s husband and CEO of the label, Lars von Benningsen, on her way out.

Since commissioning a bespoke emerald-green Temperley London dress for the royal wedding after-party at Buckingham Palace in April, the label has become a go-to favourite for both Pippa and her sister Catherine.

In the hot seat, next to Middleton, was actress Rosario Dawson, currently enjoying the shows in between filming her new movie in London. “I thought it was really wonderful that she came here to support Alice and it makes sense that Pippa would be here because it’s such a London staple,” she told PEOPLE post-show. So did they swap fashion tips? “She seemed lovely and I think she enjoyed the clothes as well which is always nice to see.” Excited about the ultra-feminine, oh-so-graceful show, Dawson confessed, “I loved everything, I’m salivating and trying not to drool, honestly!”

Matthew Williamson

Sunday night, Matthew Williamson (above, right presented a kaleidoscope of color at his spring/summer 2012 show. The first runway show to ever be staged in the Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall, it boasted a front row consisting of pal Sienna Miller and Rachel Zoe.

Burnt oranges and vibrant yellow took center stage, as did the designer’s signature embellishment with semi-precious stones and feather detailing. Miller, in a Williamson jacket, skinny jeans and Tabitha Simmons heels, told PEOPLE the finale number, a floor-length saffron gown with appliqué detailing and ostrich feathers, was her favorite

“The orange dress on Anja [Rubik] at the end — I love that,” she shared. With a cheer and a hug for the designer at the after-party, held on the top floor of the museum with a view of St. Paul’s Cathedral, it was a fashionable fête all around.

Sophie on

I dont understand why is everybody talking about this woman, she is not pretty at all nor is a t.v. star or an extraordinary model… she is simply the sister in law of William

Emily on

@ Sophie

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I find her quite stylish.

You don’t have to be an “extraodinary model” or tv star to be a celebrity.

Star on

I find her stylish also! Not sure what she does but she’s cute!

Princey on

I do not get it. What is the fascination with her? Granted, she looked great at the wedding but ever since then she looks about as normal as my next door neighbor. Not putting her down at all, she is cute, just don’t get the fascination.

Adriana on

Pippa definitely has an extra something special about her. It’s a natural gift that makes her a celebrity. I love hearing about her fashion choices.

Tracy on

For a Brit, she’s beautiful. If she were in America, she would just be another pretty face on the street.

Guest on

People are fascinated by her and want to know all about her because she suddenly appeared really in front of our eyes out of no where in the royal wedding. You have to admit she looked fabulous. The curiosity “of her” will sell, sell, sell and I think that’s what it boils down to.

nichole on

Tired of hearing about PIPPA!

ash on

She is not attractive at all. I’m sure she is nice and her clothes are pretty, but her? Much prettier girls walking around everyday.

pippa_no_more on

people mag has tried very, very hard to make a celebrity out of this very ordinary woman. not particularly good looking, not successful, not nothing….except sister of Kate. Stop it already

Cinder's mom on

Pippa does have something special about her that is all too lacking in many other people; it’s called class.

Lorah on

I like Pippa.. its not her fault shes got the medias attention… she even said so herself.. ‘im just a fad’ so haters…leave the poor girl alone and let her enjoy her life…

DRah on

I don’t get the fascination with her either. Her fame will die out eventually and she’ll be in L.A. as a celebrity-wannabe on Dancing with the Stars.

Karla on

Kate def got the looks in this family, Pippa is not that attractive, enough about her already!

Laura on

LOVE her! And her sister. Two very pretty, seemingly down-to-earth girls.

TaB on

WOW!!! She’s so not cute.

Dahlia on

Attending a fashion show is definitely on my bucket list. Someday I hope to attend shows like this!!

Belle on

I find Pippa to be a regular, average woman. There is nothing outstanding feature-wise about this her. Her fashion sense is ridiculous most of the time, personally I do not find her stunning and don’t understand what all the buzz is about her. I agree, the only time she wowed me was on the day of Kate’s wedding. That was it, everything else besides is mediocre blah!

Claire on

Is this the same girl who sat back complaining about all the attention that she was given, sitting front row at fashion week? She is just showing that she is the true social climber she was made out to be.

logan5 on

She’s just a plain Jane. And from what I hear her body isn’t what it was made out to be. That tight dress she wore at the wedding apparently had an ass enhancement sewn in. I really don’t think she’s that pretty. Her sister on the hand….

pro-pipper on

Face it Sophie, the Pipster is a knockout before she’s even out of the sack. Can you say the same about yourself? I dare say!

katerina on

She looks like a fun girl to be around, but pretty? No way! I would wonder if this is a beauty face in Great Britain? Stop before we start comparing her with Paris Hilton…yikes! Certainly not pretty in US nor Latin American standards.
We have by far prettier people walking on our streets. Kate is pretty, not Pippa.

AZGolfer on

She is a lovely woman, as is her sister and her Mother. As such, she will always be in the spotlight because her sister, one day, will be the Queen of England.

Mauka on

I was married to a British woman and lived there for awhile. By British standards she is attractive. By American standards she is average, at best. England, by European standards, are not known for beautiful women. I should know after being married to one and lived there for awhile. When someone like her comes along it blows the British “beauty curve” out of the water. While I was there Jordan, or Katie Price being her real name, was all the talk of England. I read an article about her trying to make it in America. Even that article stated,” women like her are a dime a dozen in LA.” I don’t get what all the fuss is about Pippa either. She is not pretty at all. I see women a lot more attractive than her everyday here in Chicago.

shelby on

Who decides she can have more covergae from the media? Is it all political like everything else and bought and paid for as such?

mena on

humm, why is she on tv and internet all the time. we have far more beautiful ladies here in the USA…. Whey don’t cnn or people praise them. poeple and media are nuts. its just casue she is someone’s sister?

Rick on

Who is Pippa ???

Tavia Kennedy on

I love burberry. Have never been to London fashion week but would love to fly over one year to attend. NY Fashion week was actually better than last years have to give credit to that. Now as far as Pippa she is basic in American standards. For over in Britain they find her fascinating. I personally think she stole the style points at her sisters wedding I loved that dress she had on the wedding gown was too boring and basic. But since Brits are a more conservative and reserved than Americans I can see where all the hoopla was all about. That fan dress is okay but not really fashionista to me.

zhoro on

So wait, people are questioning why she is in the media based on her not looking anything special? What if she DID look very pretty? Would it be okay then for her to be all over the media spectrum?

Honestly, shallowness has no limits in this culture.

Ledzep on

Pippa is very hot, she is just not very beatiful. For all those women here who don’t get the facination, check out picture of hers at a party in which she is drunk and grinding while only waring this old fashioned bra. It is the combination of a young hot girl wearing an old fashioned bra that started the facination. And she is hot that. At the wedding she just looked very plain. It’s part of our facination with all things simple.

Opinion on

She looks quite old for 20ish and , yes, the ‘family’ certainly married ‘well’!!! Poor Pippa…how can she ever trump her sisters wedding match??!~

DELBERT on

THIS CHIC IS HOT….SHE WOULD BE WELCOME AND FIT IN WELL RIGHT DOWN HERE IN THE SOUTH……SHE PROBABLY WOULD LIKE SOME GOOD-OLE SEC FOOTBALL ALSO!!!

Eddie on

Beauty is subjective and almost every pic you see in a magazine is airbrushed and online is photoshopped so the model or actress appears to be ‘flawless’ when they’re usually quite ordinary – but we wouldn’t spend money to see what they’re up to if they were seen as they really are, would we. So the illusion keeps us spending our money to buy magazines and watch programs that are equally steeped in fantasy. It’s the Barnum principle – there’s one born every minute.

Jeremy on

I’d hit that, any day of the week. She has a butt that just won’t quit…. all up in them guts, all the way to DEEZ NUTZ.
