Bridal Designers Dish for ‘Martha Stewart Weddings’
Ever wonder what goes through the minds of the country’s top bridal designers? They’re spilling their secrets in the latest issue of Martha Stewart Weddings, which hits newsstands on Sept. 5.
“My dream client is someone who knows who she is and knows who she wants to be,” Vera Wang explains in the clip above. The designer, who created Kim Kardashian‘s three wedding gowns, says she loves the bridal looks of such icons as Grace Kelly and Yoko Ono.
Meanwhile, Mark Badgley and James Mischka reveal that their first-ever celebrity client was X Factor judge Paula Abdul, while Reem Acra makes us jealous, sharing that lately, she’s been visiting various palaces around the world, designing for princesses.
But sometimes, it’s just about the basics. As Amsale Aberra says, “I always make sure that what I design it is classic at the same time that it is current.”
Pick up the issue — which includes dreamy gowns from Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, Marchesa, Monique Lhuillier and more — on Monday.
