Kim Kardashian’s Wedding Hair and Makeup: All the Details!

When Kim Kardashian walked down the aisle toward her NBA-player husband-to-be, Kris Humphries, she was part princess, part old Hollywood in her custom Vera Wang gown and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. “Every girl feels like a princess on her wedding day,” Kardashian tells PEOPLE.

But it wasn’t until her hair and makeup were complete that the bride truly felt ready to meet her prince charming at the end of the aisle.

“We wanted to make her an amazing movie star from the ’40s, ’50s, ’60s; like Sophia Loren or Ava Gardner or Elizabeth Taylor,” says Peter Savic, who created Kardashian’s intricate chignon. “She looked very polished. It was classic and tasteful yet exotic.” While Savic had seen the main gown — and he and Kardashian had traded ideas — the two didn’t have any trials. “I just created it that day,” he says.

For his part, makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic carried the princess vibe into Kardashian’s cosmetics. “She wanted to look like the most polished and beautiful version of herself,” he says. To prep her skin he used moisturizer by La Mer and By Terry Touche Veloutee concealer under her eyes, giving her a fresh-faced look. Ensuring things stayed put during the long day, Dedivanovic set her makeup with Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre Natural Finish loose powder.

When it came to highlighting Kardashian’s stunning features — especially the eyes — “I used Lancôme 5 Pan Eyeshadow Palette in Golden Frenzy,” he explains. “I swept the golden shade all over lid, the darkest shade along her crease and the lightest shade I used on the brow bone to highlight. I swept the golden colors along Kim’s lower lash line for a super-soft smoky look.” And to give her lashes beautiful length and volume, “I applied two coats of Lancôme Hypnôse Doll Lashes mascara in So Black,” he explains.

To warm Kardashian’s skin and contour her cheeks, Dedivanovic relied on Guerlain Teracotta bronzing powder. “I brushed a bit all along the hairline and along the jaw line,” he says. “To chisel her cheeks, I swept it along the hollows of her cheeks.” Finishing off the look, he defined Kardashian’s voluminous lips using YSL Dessin des Levres lip liner in Nude Beige and Lancôme’s L’Absolu Nu lipstick in Coral Sand (a sheer peachy hue), adding a final touch of shine with Lancôme La Laque Fever lip gloss in Ravishing Coral.

But his job wasn’t done yet. The secret to her stunning shine-free skin throughout the day and night? “Tatcha Blotting Papers,” Dedivanovic reveals. And since Kardashian changed gowns throughout the evening, Dedivanovic had to keep his work classic. “The look had to work with any dress she chose,” he shares, “so we kept the makeup consistent through out the whole day and into the evening.”

The “who cares” people are missing the entire point of the article. It’s a commercial. She paid virtually nothing for various high cost elements of her wedding, including dresses etc., because they are “sponsored” by Vera Wang, etc. In this case, all the makeup tips he’s sharing in this blurb are commercials for the products, all donated in exchange for the “word of mouth” and this very exposure. So who cares? Lancôme, YSL, Vera Wang, Lorraine Schwartz, Peter Savic, Mario Dedivanovic, Tatcha, La Mer, Chanel, and others.

you people whine about that you don’t care about her or the wedding etc… yet you read the article?? And some of you judge her like you know her personally?? get a life!

Hmmm . . . on

Anybody feel like this woman is a whole lot prettier on a normal day? I am a woman and naturally, I really love her long hair, which was totally covered up.

I don’t know, it makes me sad to hear people refer to Kim Kardashian’s wedding day as “the wedding of the year” because I think the true wedding of the year is William and Catherine. Anyone else agree?

Kim is definitely a very, very pretty girl. Lately, however, I feel that she is becoming somewhat a caricature of herself. Her face is looking more and more plastic and her cheeks are different. The shame here is that she started changing herself Ibotox, plastic surgery, etc.) at such a young age. I can only imagine how fake she will look at 50.

Kim on

Did you ever look at the before and after pictures on the intranet (plastic surgery website)? She has had a major overall, her nose, chin and Restalyne injections. I would like to know who her plastic surgeon is. She looks so beautiful.

ENOUGH ABOUT THE KARDASHIANS….THEY’RE A NO TALENT FAMILY WHO ALWAYS FINDS WAYS TO GET THEIR NAMES & PICTURES IN PRINT! CAN’T THE MEDIA FIND MORE INTERESTING, WORTHWHILE PEOPLE TO TALK ABOUT?????

To all those commenting hate against Kim or “who cares?” Well, obviously you do! For me, if I don’t care about the subject of an article when I browse this site I don’t read it, let alone comment on it! I like Kim, I think she is a strong, beautiful woman. Sure, she has made mistakes in the past, but who hasn’t? I think she has handled them with grace and poise. She works hard and can support herself.
To the person who posted about other important news going on: yes, I agree with you there is. But this is People, which focuses on entertainment and celebrities. So if you want to read about the Hurricane or other stories similar, go to a news site that focuses on those matters!
