Sarah Palin Hair Salon Reality Show

Her hair was the topic of much debate during the 2008 presidential campaign, and now, the salon responsible for Sarah Palin’s signature styles is the subject of a new TLC reality show, Big Hair Alaska. Premiering this fall, the two-part special on the Beehive Beauty Shop “goes inside a busy hair salon in Wasilla, AK, where the personalities of the owner and her staff are as big as the hairstyles they create,” according to TLC.

The 1,400-sq.-ft., bright pink salon was featured in a 2008 profile in the New York Times, which delved into Palin’s hairstyle evolution. “She’s very involved in her look and how she’s perceived,” Beehive owner Jessica J. Steele told the paper. “We would talk a lot about how if she looked too pretty or too sexy, people wouldn’t listen to her. How important it was for people to see her as an intelligent, smart woman. It was comical when her hair was down, how big a difference that would make, especially when she was running for governor.”

In fact, when Palin did announce her bid for governor, Steele called her into the salon, where the pals tried side-swept bangs, curls and even blonde streaks. “We just kept polishing her look,” Steele said. “We would try more warm, red and coppery highlights or more of a contrast with pale highlights, not to be severe but just more striking.”

But as Palin’s star began to rise, so did her hair. Updos helped give the petite politico some extra height, and according to Steele, “Sarah wanted to look more professional and ready to work and not come across as high maintenance and fussy.” Tell us: Will you tune into Big Hair Alaska?

Actually, she’s as experienced as your president. She just isn’t covered by a bubble of “transparency”. $14.2 trillion anyone? And this discussion is about hair?

The media is pretty desperate to print something about Sarah Palin, if her hair salon is now being given a reality show. Her hair has always looked like a “HOT MESS” and I don’t understand why anybody would want to watch the folks who are responsible for doing her hair! Give me a break! She’s old news and I wish the media would stop reporting everything she does. This just feeds her ENORMOUS EGO and keeps her in the spotlight. Stop writing about her and maybe, she’ll go away FOR GOOD!

Sarah’s hair up or down, she is still a pathetic bumbling moron…Enough of Sarah already.

How desperate is TLC getting? First they keep torturing us with It’s All About ME (Kate Gosselin) and now Sarah’s beauty shop? Why not a show about the driver of her bus? Iused to skip network tv for cable, now I guess I’ll have to get a Netflix membership.

Apparently Sarah Palin is more interested in getting money for her reality show about Big Hair than noticing that she now has a baby grand daughter. Congratulations to Britta and Track and Britta’s parents.
