Madonna and Lourdes Expand Their Fashion Line, Material Girl

Teens everywhere have been amping up their wardrobes with eclectic pieces from Madonna and daughter Lourdes’s juniors clothing line, Material Girl. And now, the mother-daughter team is building up the brand to include beauty products, intimates and sleepwear, plus outerwear, party dresses and an expanded denim line. First up are intimates and sleepwear, which debut in stores this month and will include everything from solid and polka-dot push-up bras to bustiers, sweatpants and even girly boxers. Next will come beauty products, including nail polish, lip glosses, body sprays and lotions, all hitting stores on Aug. 15, with eye palettes launching on Sept. 15. 
”It was so much fun getting to pick all of my favorite scents for the Material Girl body products and lip glosses,” Lourdes told WWD. “The body products have fun names like Wicked Watermelon, Flirty Fruit, Midnight Magnolia and Sinful Sugar. I chose scents that I loved.” After girls everywhere start smacking their lips with the new glosses, they can stock up on fall fashions like studded and acid-wash skinny jeans, outerwear like cape coats and bomber jackets, and a collection of sequin-covered, feather-accessorized dresses, also coming to stores in fall. First dreadlocks, now a full-on haircut! Gone are the days of Bradley Cooper’s longer coiff and sexy curls; now, the actor is sporting a short cut, one we totally don’t mind. Cooper, who hit his superstar stride as the longhaired Hangover hottie, hasn’t done too much to his locks since finding fame, though his new cut — which he sported out in New York City over the weekend — does bring to mind his Wedding Crashers character. While his slightly altered look is here to stay, his long hair will live on in infamy: on Monday Madame Tussauds introduced the star’s Las Vegas wax figure, which has those familiar, fluffy strands. Ivanka Trump thinks a good BFF is important, but enough with the old-school art of making friendship bracelets out of string — she wanted a more sophisticated model! So the new mom, who expanded her fashion empire with a fine jewelry collection in 2007, recently created a limited-edition bracelet inspired by Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, a new film that tells the story of two best friends. Trump collaborated with the movie’s producer, Wendi Deng Murdoch, to create a piece that symbolized the themes of friendship and sisterhood. “I was griped by the journey of Snow Flower and Lily from inception,” Trump said of her inspiration. “Wendi and I wanted to design a piece of jewelry that embodied the eternal bond between the two best friends.” The result was this art deco fan design, accented by diamonds and set in 18-karat white gold. Each bracelet, available in black resin with white diamonds or white pearl resin with black diamonds, is hand engraved with the Chinese character for friendship on the inside of the cuff. Gwen Stefani Takes Her Harajuku Style to Target

Gwen Stefani‘s style is no longer just for grown-ups. The successful designer — and No Doubt frontwoman — announced today that she’s partnering with Target to create Harajuku Mini, an affordable, two-installment collection for babies, children and tweens. The line will first debut in Target stores and on target.com on Nov. 13, with a second delivery in January. Prices will range from $3.99 to $29.99. “Harajuku Mini is a dream come true,” Stefani told WWD. “I’ve always wanted to do a cool children’s fashion line inspired by the supercute and playful kid’s clothing you find in Japan.” Stefani, herself a mom of two young boys, knows her customer well, and says the whole idea of the line “is about being creative, expressing your own individuality and having fun getting dressed.” This marks the first time the designer, who’s had success with her L.A.M.B. and Harajuku Lovers lines, has created clothes for babies and boys. “Target has given me the creative freedom to design kid’s clothing that is different than most anything you usually see out there with great quality, attention to detail and most of all, available at amazing prices,” Stefani said. Her collection follows recent collaborations between Target and brands like Calypso St. Barth, Petit Tresor and coming soon, Missoni.

Alyson Hannigan Shares Advice in the ‘Good Girlfriend Guide’

How I Met Your Mother star Alyson Hannigan is a successful working actress, a mom and a wife, but like every girl, she relies on her girlfriends for a dose of good advice. So Hannigan, the newest ambassador for Head & Shoulders, has partnered with the brand to launch the Good Girlfriend Guide, a lighthearted book that tackles every head-scratching behavior from dating mistakes to beauty faux pas by allowing women to share their best advice with one another. “It’s a great manual of great advice that girlfriends give each other,” Hannigan explains to PEOPLE. “It’s nice to know you’re not alone in your boat.” So what’s one tip the actress plans to share with others? That being a new mom means spending less time getting yourself ready — and sometimes, that means deciding between wearing makeup or focusing on hair. “If you have to choose between doing your makeup or hair, choose [the latter],” she advises. “If you have great hair, you can wear sweatpants and still look chic.” But being a new mom does comes with some unforeseen beauty perks, too. “I’ve had some success with diaper cream as a newfound beauty tool — by accident, of course,” she says. “It turns out it’s actually a fairly nice hand moisturizer.” But for all the advice she’s able to give, Hannigan has had several moments where she wishes a girlfriend was there to help — especially when it comes to red carpet missteps. “I’ve had many and I hope I don’t have many more, but I will,” she says of her style mishaps. “I’ve had a terrible faux pas of wearing a dress backward, which was supposed to look trendy, but it just did not work.” Hannigan is encouraging women to share their stories by logging onto the Head & Shoulders for Women Facebook fan page for a chance to get their best girlfriend advice published in the guide — and to win a VIP trip to Los Angeles.
