UPDATE: Ben Affleck Tries a New Do

He’s a doting dad, a husband and a successful producer, but Ben Affleck is showing he can still be young and hip despite his mature demeanor. The actor traded in his signature dad look for some longer, flat-ironed locks — but his rep tells PEOPLE that the change is for his role in the new movie Argo. But Affleck is figuring out how to work the look in real life, pairing the hipster-esque hair with a striped shirt, cotton trousers and trainers while out in Santa Monica over the weekend. He’s not the first male star to try straight, long locks: Zac Efron is know for this slicked-down look; Pete Wentz once dabbled in the straight hair trend; and let’s not forget Justin Bieber, the godfather of flat-ironed hair. Since the change is just temporary for Affleck, maybe we’ll see him return to the more tousled style he worked earlier this month.
