Liv Tyler Trades in Sneakers and Flats for Sky-High Stilettos

Liv Tyler Loves Stilettos

At five-ft., 10-in. tall, actress Liv Tyler towers over many people in Hollywood. But that certainly isn’t stopping her from slipping on some stilettos. “I’m obsessed with wearing heels all the time now, these Louboutin heels,” she tells Nylon magazine. “They’re really comfortable.” However Tyler, who claims her rockin’ dad steals her clothes, wasn’t always such a fan of being so, er, well-heeled. “I was this tall when I was, I think, 11? So at 11, I was five-ft., 10-in. and I had a size 10 shoes,” she says about once hesitating to accentuate her height. Today, though, it’s a different story. “This came to me like a light bulb recently, like, ‘Why am I so shy when I’m tall?’ and ‘Why do I feel better in flats and Converse? Oh I bet it’s because I was a giant at 11 years old, and I was so much taller than everyone. All the boys!’” she explains. “But today I feel happy to be tall.” Tell us: What do you think of Tyler growing confidence? –Kim Peiffer

Justin Bieber’s New Perfume ‘Explains a Dream’

Splash News Online; Inset: Courtesy Give Back

The meaning of life may be a mystery, but the meaning behind Justin Bieber‘s new fragrance, Someday, is much simpler. “It explains a dream. Someday I will drive a BMW. Someday I will be an astronaut,” the pop star told PEOPLE Thursday at Macy’s Herald Square in New York City. “In the commercial, [costar Dree Hemingway's] someday was meeting me. So when she sprayed on the perfume, I appeared in the room and we floated off into this place … that’s what I perceive it as.” Bieber said he was “100 percent involved” with the conception of the fragrance, from choosing the notes to designing the bottle. But just because he enjoyed the process doesn’t mean he’ll create a scent for men, too. “I’m not opposed to it, but I’m more into how females smell,” he joked. The singer told ET Canada that it makes more sense for him to create a fragrance for females, anyway. “Guys are the people smelling the perfume on the girls. It’s not the other girls … so I think that’s the smarter thing.” Adding that his girlfriend Selena Gomez does have a bottle — though didn’t inspire the scent — he said the flowery fragrance is an instant conversation starter. “If I was at a meet-and-greet and smelled this on a certain someone, then I would be like, ‘Wow, that smells really good,’” he said. Beliebers, take note. –With reporting by Carlos Greer

Ashley Hebert has to break yet another heart on tonight’s episode of The Bachelorette, but at least she’ll look cute doing so! During this evening’s rose ceremony in Hong Kong, the reality starlet will be decked out in a short, shimmery dress by designer Randi Rahm. “It’s a very beautiful color on her,” Rahm tells PEOPLE of the baby blue creation. “It’s sleek, young and feminine. City-like, but old-world exotic. It will be fabulous at sunset.” Hebert, who let three guys go last week, has worn Rahm’s creations throughout this season of The Bachelorette. “Cary [Fetman] the costume designer and I really worked closely before and during filming,” Rahm reveals. “I provided him with options for Ashley that worked well on her shape and her coloring, and she just fell in love with them.” Rahm, who says Hebert wears her clothes “quite well,” especially loved seeing the star in the Swarovski crystal-studded “Diamond AB” gown during the first rose ceremony. “It was absolutely breathtaking,” she says. But she hints that there’s much more to come. “Wait until you see the finale look — now that’s unreal,” Rahm reveals, adding that she hopes her relationship with Hebert continues once the show is over. “I’d really like to design her wedding gown, when she finds that special guy,” she says. “What a culmination that would be!”

Transformers: Dark of the Moon hits theaters Wednesday, and its fierce female lead, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, has been working overtime to promote it in style. The model-turned-actress — she topped Maxim‘s Hot 100 this year and dates action star Jason Statham — surfaced in Europe over the weekend, continuing her streak of chic. Huntington-Whiteley glimmered at the film’s Berlin premiere Saturday, stunning the crowd in a cap-sleeve, open-back trumpet gown by Naeem Khan. She appeared at a press conference Saturday, too, wearing a curve-hugging maroon dress and nude heels, plus a JewelMint ‘Serpentine’ necklace. Sunday, she promoted the film in London in a sapphire-blue custom Burberry dress. Later, she turned up at an after-party in a sexy peek-a-boo Burberry number and open-toed booties. From her summery jumpsuits to leggy Gucci gowns, we think Huntington-Whiteley has been the style star of the summer so far. Tell us: Which look was your favorite?

Anne Hathaway on Fashion: I’m the ‘Luckiest Girl in the World’

Anne Hathaway Harper's BazaarCourtesy Harper’s Bazaar

In the August issue of Harper’s Bazaar, Anne Hathaway worries she’s revealed too much of her “inner nerd.” Talking about big books over a pedicure and vegan meal, she shares her love of the dark matter discussed in The Edge of Physics. But it’s not just science that keeps the Oscar nominee stimulated; it’s her wide variety of movie roles, boyfriend Adam Shulman (“So far, it’s worked out great,” she says of their romance) and of course, fashion. “[I] feel like the luckiest girl in the world when I get to wear all theses glamorous clothes,” she says. Explaining that off the red carpet, she wears items from her own closet, like favorites from Isabel Marant and Vivienne Westwood, she says she’s come into her own, style-wise. “I’ve become a lot more specific about what I love and why I’m doing it.” But the star, who made seven wardrobe changes while hosting the Oscars — “I got to have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity … [I] wore beautiful clothes,” she shares — doesn’t mind going, well, without clothes once in a while, too. Of her scantily clad scenes in Love and Other Drugs, she says, “I don’t get hung up on nudity. To me, it was just an extension of who she was. It was real.” For more with Hathaway, go to harpersbazaar.com and pick up the August issue, on newsstands July 12.
