She became a household name after a compelling appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show and now, transgender model Lea T has landed a swimwear campaign for hip Brazilian brand Blue Man. The 28-year-old made a splash on the runway during the Fashion Rio Summer 2012 event in Brazil Wednesday, working the catwalk in a colorful bikini. Later, she posed in a snakeskin printed, cutaway suit paired with denim hot pants, according to U.K.’s Telegraph. On Tuesday, T was spotted on a beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, shooting Blue Man’s 2012 swim campaign with a host of sexy male models, as famed photographer Terry Richardson snapped away. This isn’t T’s first foray into the world of high fashion, however; she starred in a sultry ad campaign for Givenchy and has walked in runway shows for Brazilian designer Alexandre Herchcovitch. –Kim Peiffer

Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen’s Old-Fashioned Fashion Empire

Ashley Olsen on Fashion, The Row and CFDA Awards
Dave Allocca/Startraks

Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen may be known for their daring fashion sense, but when it comes to running a four-brand business, their approach is decidedly more traditional. “At the end of the day, we know that every decision we make, we can hold ourselves accountable,” Ashley explains to Style.com of CFDA-nominated collection The Row. “We’ve made every hire; we know everyone’s salary. We run The Row, from start to finish,” she adds, to WWD. But regardless of highly coveted critical success, the sisters continue to strive for production quality. “Each season, more and more, we dive deeper into techniques,” Ashley says. And in spite of the brand’s online presence (“When we started selling The Row to Net-a-Porter, overnight it became our third largest retailer,” says Mary-Kate) they remain committed to traditional customers. “For me personally, I like to walk into a store and feel the fabric, try it on, see everything,” Mary-Kate tells WWD. And the prospect of reaching fans over Twitter? “That makes me so anxious,” Ashley confides. –Justine Harman

Blake Lively’s Favorite Hobby: Self-Styling

Blake Lively Talks Fashion
Rex USA

She’s a designer’s “dream girl” and has even had a Christian Louboutin shoe named after her, but as it turns out, Blake Lively is the lone force behind her own stylish appearances. In the July issue of Glamour, the Gossip Girl star tells pal Florence Welch that her fashion obsession started at an early age. “My mom modeled and made clothes, so I always had such an appreciation for design. And then Gossip Girl completely blew open the door to fashion for me. I’d go to fashion shows and call my publicist and say, ‘Can I wear that?’” says the face of Chanel Mademoiselle handbags. “I think I became my own stylist by not knowing any better. And once I was told it was time to get one, I thought: This is one of my favorite hobbies! And I’m going to pay someone to steal my hobby from me? That’s a terrible idea!” For big awards shows, Lively (recently linked to Leonardo DiCaprio) says she keeps her beauty routine simple so the clothes have a chance to shine. “I like it to be easy. I don’t feel like I have to do so much with hair and makeup, because I’m the mannequin for these beautiful clothes, so I never want to do anything too distracting,” she explains. “Most of the time, I put my hair in a ballerina bun, and I take it down and it’s wavy, and then I leave. I feel shy when people are fussing on me.” But just because she has to fit into designer dresses doesn’t mean she’ll be skipping a meal. “My diet of choice before events is a chicken potpie from Tea & Sympathy,” she reveals, “because they never have enough food at these things.” Tell us: What do you think of Lively’s self-styling skills? –Kim Peiffer

Miranda Lambert’s Wedding Gown: Chosen for Good Luck!

When planning her wedding to country star Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert had the perfect dress in mind — and didn’t have to look far to find it. “The first time I heard her talking about it, she said, ‘My mom and dad have had a great long marriage and it must have been good luck for them, so I want to start my marriage wearing the same dress my mom had on,’” recalls Lambert’s publicist and wedding planner Kathy Best. “It was all about the lasting love her parents had, and that was very important to her.” Once Lambert slipped into the Gunne Sax dress, she knew she’d found the one. “It was a very tearful moment the day we first tried it on,” Lambert’s mom, Bev, tells PEOPLE Country. “She’s like, ‘I’m not even going to try another dress on. This is it Mom. There’s no other dress that would fit me better or mean more to me than this dress.’ It was stunning on her.” The gown, which Bev wore during her 1979 nuptials, had been tucked inside a cedar chest for more than 30 years, so Lambert gave it a little updating, adding a small train of the same fabric to the end, but otherwise leaving the spaghetti-strap, off-white frock untouched. During the couple’s wedding ceremony, Lambert’s family pastor explained the significance of the dress, and at the barnyard reception, the newlyweds displayed photos of their parents at their own weddings — including a shot of Bev in the Gunne Sax gown. “It was perfect,” Best adds. “And [Miranda] was just beautiful.” For more on Lambert and Shelton’s wedding and all your favorite country stars — and for free music downloads! — pick up the latest issue of PEOPLE Country or check out people.com/free. –Reporting by Danielle Anderson

Eva Mendes Reveals Her Biggest Fashion Blunder

Eva Mendes Shares Her Fashion Mishap
Dave Allocca/Startraks

Eva Mendes is a pro at glamming it up on the red carpet, but admits to PEOPLE that despite her ability to turn heads, she’s had a few fashion mishaps over the years. “I did this big movie about four years ago. It’s with Nicolas Cage and we had our New York premiere and it was kind of a crazy long day, and by the time the premiere came it was snowing in N.Y.C. and I just threw this dress on,” she explains. “My team and I just got me ready and threw me out the door. Needless to say, it just did not work.” And when it comes to what, specifically, made the look (left) so disastrous, the star says everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. “It was a total disaster. It was a pink strapless dress with this weird braid hairstyle,” she recalls. “At least I was ahead of the curve with the braid. [But] none of it worked.” It wasn’t the first time the star says she’d been the victim of a fashion crime — this one just happened to leave a mark. “I’ve had a few [fashion disasters] but this look has haunted me just because I should have known better.” Tell us: What’s been your biggest fashion blunder? –Kim Peiffer, with reporting by Pamela Edwards-Christiani
