Lauren Conrad Goes Back to Blonde Hair

You voted, and she listened! After asking fans to weigh in on her next hair hue, Lauren Conrad is back to blonde. “It’s much lighter now,” she told Chelsea Handler Monday night on E!’s Chelsea Lately. “I did a poll on my website I just launched, of whether I should stay brown or go blonde, and blonde won.” The former reality starlet went brunette in January, sporting a deep color touched with a few blonde highlights. Conrad explained that her newly dyed locks — a blend of different colors — were meant to emulate surfer-girl hair. “It’s as if the sun did it, and not chemicals,” she joked. “You frame it blonde, then you do dark [on top], so it grows out naturally.” Wearing a dress from her Paper Crown holiday collection, Conrad revealed that she’s currently writing the first in her second series of three books — and needed to wrap it up. “My manuscript was due today,” she shared. Tell us: Do you prefer Conrad as a blonde or brunette?

Gwyneth Paltrow Shares Her Of-the-Moment Fashion Faves

4AM Finds Alice + Olivia

Gwyneth Paltrow chats about the things she loves in GOOP each week, whether she’s dishing on food, friends or fashion. But this week, she’s doubling her newsletter fun, teaming up with Alicie + Olivia‘s Stacey Bendet to talk summer style in Bendet’s 4AM Finds, a weekly newsflash full of the designer’s obsessions in art, fashion and more. So what do the ladies lust for this week? Paltrow calls a Baume & Mercier watch “bold and not too daring,” to which Bendet agrees. “I’m a Swatch girl, but this is gorgeous,” she says. A playful “Frida” dress from Alice + Olivia is “perfect for a summer party,” the actress gushes. A Comme des Garçons candle is Paltrow’s “current home scent,” while Olio Lusso oil “makes skin look and smell so good.” (“If there’s any chance of my skin glowing like yours I’m going to buy every bottle of this organic bliss,” Bendet jokes.) And of course, there’s Paltrow’s new cookbook, My Father’s Daughter, which Bendet describes as “a brilliant blend of story and substance.” Check out more of the ladies’ picks in today’s 4AM Finds; 10 percent of proceeds from sales of the featured Alice + Olivia items will benefit Bent on Learning, an organization that brings yoga to kids in New York City’s public schools.

CFDA EXCLUSIVE: David Meister and Emmanuelle Chriqui Dish on Her Sexy Dress

Entourage star Emmanuelle Chriqui descended upon the scene in custom David Meister at last night’s CFDA Awards in New York, creating a show-stopping moment months in the making. Before so much as a discussion about concept, Meister sent the star a sketch of a “very bare, very sexy” silhouette in “bright, bright yellow,” he tells PEOPLE exclusively. “We both agreed on the color,” Chriqui adds. “We were basically on the same page from the beginning. It’s glamorous, while being sexy and fresh at the same time. It’s amazing.” For Chriqui, the look was about one thing: the dress. “I’m not a huge accessory person,” she says, and it showed: she let the body-hugging design pop against complementary amethyst sandals, bronze-enhancing hoops and a Kelly Locke clutch. Meister, who counts Jennifer Aniston‘s timeless style among his inspirations agrees that a look’s kiss of death is “too much dress.” Hence, Chriqui’s short hemline. “She’s a great date to have,” he tells PEOPLE. “Not only does she look great, we have a great time.” And Chriqui, who says she is “intrigued” by the prestigious ceremony, might even join Meister as a CFDA member one day. “I could see definitely sort of collaborating somewhere along the way,” she shares. “I’m not sure when, but it could definitely be a part of life.” Tell us: What do you think of Chriqui’s custom David Meister look? –Justine Harman

Would You Wear Bold Eyes and Lips Like Gwen Stefani?

Gwen Stefani Hair and Makeup
Joseph Kerlakian/Startraks

As far as bright red lips and platinum hair go, Gwen Stefani has that market — or red carpet, if you will — cornered. She pulls this one-two beauty punch off whether she’s playing in the park with sons Zuma and Kingston or hitting a fancy fundraiser. But for a recent Cannes Film Festival movie screening, she upped the ante by pairing her standbys with sparkling navy blue eye shadow and what looks to be multiple sets of false lashes. We always follow the rule of focusing on eyes or lips, never both, but with Stefani it seems okay to break these age-old directives. What do you think? Tell us: Would you pair a dramatic smokey eye with bright lipstick?

Kate’s Epsom Derby Outfit: White On!

Kate Middleton Style: Epsom Derby
Allpix/Splash News Online

And she’s off! Just back from her honeymoon, the Duchess of Cambridge made her first public appearance as a newlywed Saturday, joining her husband and brother-in-law — plus other members of the royal family — at the Epsom Derby in Surrey, England. While the men wore traditional top hats and tails — and women impressed with another round of formal toppers — Kate stood out in her sleek white ensemble, reminiscent of a suit Princess Diana wore to the Royal Ascot race 25 years ago. For her day out, Kate chose a flowing white above-the-knee dress, topped with a white tweed “Nessie” jacket from Joseph. She accessorized with an L.K. Bennett “Natalie” clutch and taupe patent leather “Sledge” pumps by the brand, Kiki McDonough citrine drop earrings and topped her look with a Whiteley hat. While Kate’s look was winning, sadly, the horses she came to cheer for were not; the Queen of England’s horse placed third, while Kate’s mother’s horse came in fourth. Tell us: What do you think of Kate’s ensemble?Kate Hogan, with reporting by Monique Jessen
