Sherri Shepherd: I Lied About My Wedding Dress Size

Sherri Shepherd Shows Off Her Engagement Ring on The View Donna Svennevik/ABC

Fresh from taking a turn as a bridesmaid, Sherri Shepherd is gearing up for her own walk down the aisle. Shepherd and her fiancé, Lamar Sally, were both in Niecy Nash’s wedding to Jay Tucker last month in Malibu. “They introduced Sal and I,” Shepherd told PEOPLE at the Samsung Hope for Children benefit Tuesday in New York. “Two years later, we’re still together. They’re going to be in our wedding, as a matter of fact.” With less than two months left until their big day in August, Shepherd and Sally are busy planning. The View host says she just picked out her wedding dress, a “beautiful, just gorgeous” gown by Rivini. “I started on the South Beach Diet because I gave them my fantasy size, so I now got to get into it,” Shepherd said. “Elisabeth told me to tell the truth but I lied. So I’m going to the gym and starting Zumba tomorrow.” The couple’s next stop is Los Angeles, to rehearse some dance moves with their wedding party. “We’re all going to do a choreographed dance to a Chris Brown song,” Shepherd said. “Elisabeth Hasselbeck has a robot solo. She does a very sexy robot, so I cannot wait to get that going!” They’re also busy learning to do the Samba for their first dance and setting up appointments with vendors, like a cake tasting at Sylvia Weinstock. Shepherd’s son Jeffrey, 6, will be walking her down the aisle. “It will all be great!” she said, but is she having any countdown jitters? “Yes, I’m very nervous. It’s the second time — I want to do it right!” So to unwind in their downtime, Shepherd said, the family watches “a lot of sports” for fun. “I don’t know anything that’s going on, but it makes Sal happy,” she said. “So I sit there and smile.” –Asher Fogle

TOMS Unveils New Eyewear, Talks Charity with Ben Affleck

Want to take a walk in Ben Affleck‘s shoes? The actor is the latest star to talk with TOMS, discussing the company’s original “One for One” structure — giving a person in need a pair of shoes each time a pair is purchased. In the clip above, Affleck discusses his own One for One wish: giving more help to the Eastern Congo Initiative, an advocacy group he founded. “My hope for a better tomorrow is that people hear about these issues and learn to care about them,” he says. He is also encouraging others to join the cause and share their hopes for a brighter future on the company’s Facebook page. TOMS is taking the next step in its own advocacy, too, today launching TOMS Eyewear. For every pair purchased, TOMS will help give someone the gift of sight through medical treatment, prescription eyeglasses or sight-saving surgery, administered by the Seva Foundation. The company will first target people in Nepal, Tibet and Cambodia. –Kim Peiffer

Lady Gaga Dares to Bare at the CFDA Awards

Lady Gaga CFDA Style

We’re used to seeing Lady Gaga without pants, flashing skin and pushing fashion boundaries, but at the CFDA Awards in New York City Monday night, the singer nearly bared it all. Walking the red carpet at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, Gaga — who received the Fashion Icon Award — seriously turned heads in a colorful bob, black bustier, sheer bodysuit and 10-inch black platforms. “You heard the fans screaming,” Kathy Griffin told PEOPLE. “The moment she showed up … the monsters [had] their claws out. I stopped dead in my tracks.” To accept her award, Gaga removed her Mugler skirt, leaving her in the sheer bodysuit, which got a bit X-rated as it slipped down (and left nothing to the imagination from the back). Nonetheless, the singer entertained the crowd with her tales of Vogue editor Anna Wintour. “When I was told I won this award, Anna Wintour sent me a text message. She text messages,” she deadpanned. “It said, ‘We’re so excited to tell you that you won a CFDA Fashion Icon Award.’” Thinking she’d received a text from a friend named Anna — “I have a couple of Annas in my phone,” she admitted — Gaga wrote back as a friend would. “My reply was, ‘Yes bitch, we did it!’” she recalled. “Quite quickly, I got a reply that said, ‘How lovely. And we will all be waiting to see what you will wear.’ And I thought, ‘Well, won’t you help me choose what I will wear?’ And then I said, ‘Oh …. Ack. It’s Anna Wintour.’” Gaga later stripped down further during an after-party at the Standard Hotel, covering the bare essentials with black pasties, a sheer suit and a spike-adorned thong. Tell us: Do you think Gaga showed too much skin?Jeffrey Slonim
