EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW: ‘The Rachel Zoe Project’ Season 4 Brings Style — and Skyler

The Rachel Zoe Project returns to Bravo on Sept. 6, and needless to say, we’re literally going ba-na-nas over this sneak preview. Season four — which will be without Zoe’s former sidekick Brad Goreski — seems to promise fabulous fashion, big clients (hello, Kim Kardashian?) and some serious drama with clueless new assistants. But this time around, the show has a special twist: Zoe’s pregnancy (“I’d like for him to just appear,” she says of labor and delivery) and impending motherhood. We even get to meet her son, Skyler Morrison Berman, now 3 months old. But being a mom can’t slow Zoe down: she has to style Anne Hathaway for her epic Oscars hosting gig and keep on top of her fashion empire. Tell us: Are you excited for the Rachel Zoe Project‘s return?

Heidi Klum Brightens Up with Her First Fragrance, Shine

Heidi Klum Shine Perfume
Coutesy Coty; Broadimage

In order to help her fans smell their best, Heidi Klum had to get a little moody when creating first signature fragrance, Shine. “There are different moods that as a fragrance creator you can travel to,” Klum tells WWD. “But for my first one, I wanted what I felt my staple would be. I wanted it to be sensual and feminine, but still luxurious and expensive-smelling — because I think there are so many perfumes out there that smell cheap and too sweet.” Klum, who’s created a style empire for herself as a model, designer, television host and the artistic director of European cosmetics company Astor, worked with Aurélien Guichard, Jean Guichard and Olivier Pescheux of Givaudan to create her floral fragrance. The perfume boasts notes of mandarin, pear and pink peppercorn; a heart of mimosa absolute, lily of the valley and sunflower; and a drydown of vanilla, Venezuelian tonka bean and musk cosmone. The fragrance — which comes in a bottle surrounded by light-reflecting rings that emulate waves — arrives in department stores in September, with prices starting at $17. And while Klum may have been a stickler when it came to creating her signature scent, she was okay with the ads being a little less than perfect. “You can sell a dream, and you can sell a lifestyle that a woman aspires to have, but you can’t completely trick her,” Klum says. “If people retouch me too much, I get upset — yes, you can help me out a little here and there, but don’t go overboard. I have one tooth that’s longer than another, and if you look at the [Shine] ad my snaggletooth is coming out a little bit — but I like that.” Tell us: Will you buy Klum’s new fragrance? –Kim Peiffer

Christina Hendricks’s Not-So-Dark Secret: She’s a Natural Blonde!

Christina Hendricks is a natural blonde

She looks ravishing with red hair, but Mad Mens Christina Hendricks has a secret: that’s not her real hair color! “Yes, the rumors are true — I’m naturally a dark blonde,” she reveals to ELLE.com. “I couldn’t tell you what shade, because I haven’t seen it in ages.” That’s because Hendricks’s quest for auburn locks began quite some time ago. “I started playing with red hair when I was 10 years old,” she says. “I recognize how odd it is now, but my mom let me do it. I was obsessed with Anne of Green Gables and Ginger of Gilligan’s Island, and lusted for that red hair.” And even though she was just a kid, Hendricks got what she wanted. “My mom said, ‘Well, let’s throw a rinse on it,’ and the next day, my teachers asked what had happened when I arrived at school with red hair.” But it wasn’t just red that the actress was experimenting with; she tried several colors of the rainbow before settling on her current hue. “In high school, I started experimenting with permanent color,” she shares. “My mom nearly cried one day when I came down the stairs in jet black hair. I got purple, pink and black out of my system during those years.” Tell us: What do you think of Hendricks’s hair secret? –Kim Peiffer

Blake Lively’s New Hair Color? ‘Sierra Sunset’

Blake Lively Hair Color

She may be headed back to blonde, but Blake Lively isn’t totally a towhead yet. Currently in color transition — she went red in April for her role in Hick — the actress has a new name for her hue, courtesy of Green Lantern costar Ryan Reynolds. “Ryan named my hair color ‘sierra sunset,’ which I like,” she told reporters Wednesday night at the film’s Los Angeles premiere. (So not quite red, but not quite blonde!) In the film, Lively plays Carol Ferris, who happens to be brunette. So how did she feel about going dark? “Having brown hair for this movie was so much fun,” she said. “When I play a character I love to completely transform. That’s the only way I feel like I can disappear behind them.” We can’t wait to see her go jet black — or maybe blue — next time she has a film that calls for a color change. Tell us: What hair color would you like to see Lively rock next? –Reporting by Scott Huver
