Kate’s Epsom Derby Outfit: White On!

And she’s off! Just back from her honeymoon, the Duchess of Cambridge made her first public appearance as a newlywed Saturday, joining her husband and brother-in-law — plus other members of the royal family — at the Epsom Derby in Surrey, England. While the men wore traditional top hats and tails — and women impressed with another round of formal toppers — Kate stood out in her sleek white ensemble, reminiscent of a suit Princess Diana wore to the Royal Ascot race 25 years ago. For her day out, Kate chose a flowing white above-the-knee dress, topped with a white tweed “Nessie” jacket from Joseph. She accessorized with an L.K. Bennett “Natalie” clutch and taupe patent leather “Sledge” pumps by the brand, Kiki McDonough citrine drop earrings and topped her look with a Whiteley hat. While Kate’s look was winning, sadly, the horses she came to cheer for were not; the Queen of England’s horse placed third, while Kate’s mother’s horse came in fourth. She is a beautiful woman with a wonderful sense of style. Princess Diana would be so proud that her oldest Son has chosen such a winner. Best of Luck to both of them.

I just hope Harry picks one as good as Catherine, and in my humble opinion, whatever her name is from Zimbabwe doesn’t make the grade. Seems more like a hit and get kind of relationship.

Is she purposely dressing like Diana? It can’t be a coincidence that every outfit she wears is reminiscent of something Diana wore at a similar event.

She’s a beauty BUT she looks way too thin! The whole ensemble is lovely, but skirt too short for her long gangly legs. And what’s up with her ALWAYS holding her purse with her ring hand on top? (Obviously to show off THAT ring, but I mean………) She did this while talking with the Obamas as well. It looks so contrived but I guess that’s what she’s been “trained” to do by the royal way of behaving. Too bad!
