Eva Mendes may be one of the world’s most beautiful people, but that doesn’t mean she’s a diva when it comes to her fashion choices. The star, who is showing off her bouncy locks as the new face of Pantene, says she loves to incorporate comfort into her daily look. “I’m all about little house dresses,” she tells PEOPLE of the most comfortable outfit in her wardrobe. “I have so many. If I run out to grab a coffee or something I’m usually in … some kind of little dress,” which she says she loves because it reminds her of what her mom used to wear. “I [even] have a couple that were my mother’s.” But when it comes to what truly makes Mendes feel sexy, less is more. “I feel most beautiful when I start the day,” she tells PEOPLE. “I feel most beautiful in bed, in the morning, tousled hair and a blanket.” Read more from Mendes in this week’s PEOPLE, on newsstands tomorrow! –Kim Peiffer, with reporting by Pamela Edwards-Christiani

Kim Kardashian wasn’t the only one surprised by Kris Humpries’ romantic proposal; the reality star’s family was equally shocked — and awed — by the 20.5-carat engagement ring stunner that he gave her. “We had no idea [about the engagement],” Kourtney Kardashian told PEOPLE yesterday in L.A. during a Keeping Up with the Kardashians junket with sister Khloé. “We were both surprised at the dinner when Kim came out with her big rock and she started waving it in the air!” Bling was already all in the family for the Kardashians. Matriarch Kris has a major rock of her own and Khloé’s engagement sparkler from Lamar Odom totals 12.5 carats. But don’t expect any serious bling competition among the Kardashian ladies. More than 200 designer bags were up for bids at the outdoor luncheon held at a private Santa Monica estate — and the competition was fierce. “I really wanted this graffiti Tumi luggage but [was outbid],” said Rossum. So now what is the Shameless actress in the market for? “Something that you can throw a lot in, from SPF to an iPad, so you can just go. And something lightweight.” With summer just around the corner, talk turned to the perfect warm-weather bag. For Flockhart, it’s all about the classics. “It has to be comfortable and it can’t be trendy,” she said, “I don’t want any big label on it.
