She’s a mom and reality star, but Alexis Bellino of The Real Housewives of Orange County has somehow found the time to design two clothing lines, too. The California girl recently unveiled her dual collections, Alexis Couture and Alexis Casual, available on her website now. But conceiving her clothing wasn’t without, well, the expected Housewives drama. “There’s been a lot of sweat and tears and yelling,” Bellino jokes to PEOPLE. “It hasn’t been easy. But I also didn’t expect it to come together as smoothly as it did.” Bellino, who says she was “always that girl” bringing dresses to the tailor to be altered to her liking, decided she wanted to get into fashion design about two years ago. “I had a vision, and wanted to go to a couple designers to see if they had the same vision I had, and if we could make it work,” she explains. She often describes the look or piece she’s going for to the designer, who then whips up a prototype and consults with Bellino on fabrics and details. “I’ll say, ‘OK, I love this for the line, but let’s move this, change this, add a sleeve here,'” she explains. “It’s made me realize my vision.” Bellino says her favorite Casual pieces are the maxi dresses (above), designed in part for moms on the go. “I live in them,” she shares. “Running around with three kids, sitting on the floor, getting in and out of the car, playing in the park … a short dress isn’t going to work for that.” The Couture line (above), made with more expensive fabrics, features flowing dresses Bellino says are perfect for a night out. But regardless of the differences between the two collections, Bellino is just proud to have her project out there. “I’m just so excited,” she shares. “Hopefully this will allow women to find that one dress that looks very expensive, but is really very affordable, girly and sexy.” —Kate Hogan

She doesn’t even have a website you can connect to. Did she NOT pay that bill as well?

Why is People Mag giving interviews to these Bravo women who say they are something when they are not.

I think Alexis designs are gorgeous, and elegant. I wish I had the body to wear them. I wish her sucess in her new business.

how ridiculous, someone who doesn’t even understand what “couture” means designing clothes. girlfriend, “couture” is what you took a pair of scissors to.

Janet on

The dress she took the scissors to looked like something a Brothel Madame or a back-street belly dancer would wear, so she was right to cut those sleeves off.

carol on

Might want to learn the definition of “couture” before call your line “couture” – Alexis could not even give the definition the other night on the episode – very sad woman.

Alexis Bellino CANNOT SEW. Who has EVER heard of a “fashion designer” who cannot sew? I’ve been sewing since childhood and I am STILL learning. The vast majority of designers have sewn since childhood, have formally studied design, textiles, marketing, etc., AND have extensive experience working as buyers, working in fashion houses…What is her job history? And her ‘modeling!’ I’ve never seen a more awkward, weird attempt at modeling. Alexis Bellino is in her mid 30’s and she is trying to go to the front of the line, using her ‘star status’ as a housewife, to jump ahead of people who have worked for years to break into the fashion industry.

Alexis Bellino couldn’t explain what “couture” meant. Now her husband Jim is ‘directing’ her modeling!? Anyway–does ANYONE know what Jim’s job history is? Does he work? At all??

BrendaLee on

Also, she claims her ‘line’ is affordable for “everyone.” Really? Has Mrs. Jim Bellino ever heard that we are smack in the middle of a giant recession? I don’t know what planet this middle aged woman lives on, but many of us mere mortals are NOT spending 250.00 on cheap maxi dresses made of cheap fabric. Tal is the true designer. Alexis thinks that if she scribbles a doodle on a paper and then abusively orders Tal to “create” then that makes her a talented, bone fide “fashion designer.” When asked if she could sew, she says, “I am NOT going near a sewing machine.” What an insult to those of us who do sew. Is it beneath her, or what?

I’ve heard that some of the fireworks between Alexis and Peggy are because of Alexis’s unresolved feelings about Jim and Peggy’s past relationship. I’ve heard it was way more serious that the press portrays it and that Jim and Peggy actually lost a baby! Apparently Jim was crazy in love with Peggy and when she became pregnant he was desperate to marry her. For whatever reason Peggy kept turning him down, and when she miscarried, they broke it off. According to sources, Jim was heartbroken for a long time. So I think all this talk that Jim is heartless in incorrect. Alexis has a very hard time accepting Jim and Peggy’s past, especially the fact that they nearly had a family together. By the time Jim got with Alexis he was much older, and more callous due to his heartache over the miscarriage.

I have no doubt he loves Alexis and James very much, but they say he never completely recovered from Peggy’s miscarriage. So I don’t think Jim is nearly the heartless man he’s made out to be. He has a very tender side.

AnnaMarie on

That is so sad. It sure makes me see Jim in a different light. I had a miscarriage years ago, and its true that you can grieve for years. Some people may never completely get over it. Hopefully Alexis will let him grieve when he needs to and be a safe place for him when he does feel bad about the baby he lost with Peggy. This miscarriage might have something to do with how severe Peggy’s PPD has been. It sounds like Jim and Peggy really need to seek out specific support for parents who are grieving over miscarriage. There are a lot of misconceptions and myths about grief after miscarriage. No one should let anyone else tell them how and when they should stop grieving for a child lost to miscarriage. As a doula for over 25 years, I encourage parents who are grieving miscarriage to be sure to get help if needed, and to find support groups. Good luck to all!

she should probable just stick to being controlled by her husband and working out!!

You have to be kidding me! Couture! I think not!
Dresses made from a “knit fabric”, hahaha
Alexis needs to look up what Couture means. She can’t afford couture clothing, and her rags are not couture!

OMG! Is that what she call Alexis “Couture”??? I’m not a fashion designer, but I can find better dresses at some fashion store for a fraction of what she’s selling for. I totally agreed w/ BrendaLee, she uses the name of “fame” from reality to create a fashion line that is NOT even from her own creation. Tal is definitely earned ALL the credit here. For most middle to high income housewives w/ a couple toddlers would never dresses like that to run errands or pick up their kids. I have 2 toddlers & like to look fresh and fashionable when I’m out and about, but I would never wear revealing clothes like that? Don’t you have to spend extra time to put on make up to match with that kind of fashion, No Thanks!!! I’d rather uses the time to do something more productive. Well, I suggest that she needs to go back to the basic of fashion 101 & work her way up, or better yet just continue to be an obedient wife.

NeedALaugh? Watch "coo-ture" con artists on Real Housewives! on

So when the kiddies see mommies boobies poking through the “couture” fauxxx-silk? Will that end the daddies fantasy women or mess with the little tots minds forever. GONE = are the good old days when a mom was a mom. Wise & warm heart-ed. Worried about the kids & making a memory for them that involved simple things (picking berries together at the local farm) Making dinner together. Going to church being a serious matter that involved actually living The Ten Commandments! Not being some ho-mom play thing for Dad on display for the children. Sadly this women is a drunken dolly that needs some more “smarts” that involve a whole room of counselors to help her pry daddies gripe off her brain & boobies!

Sandy on

Are her dresses made in the USA?

Angie on

Alexis’s so-called “fashion show” would have ha3
a worse review even if Gretchyn and Alexis decided to make a big deal of a FRIENDS illness landing her IN A HOSPITAL HEMORRHAGING!!!! I mean really Gretchen??? and Alexis 2!!! Do you really think “god” appreciates comments and the uncaring and the under concerned attitude the BOTH of YOU showed during your precious show?? Grow up. Rock on Vicki and Tamra!! I mean really…..WHO THE F WOULD FAKE A SURGERY??? NO…NOT FLU OR A COLD….HOSPITILIZATION AND SURGERY!!!! ALSO….The dresses weren’t even made that well so you should be THANKING GOD that Vicki brought attention to your flop of designer dress line.

KK on

I am so sick of them, where are they getting the money? They filed bankrup on his business.I am so sick the all the show.

Sandra on

The average woman does not dress like that to go shopping. Her dresses are way too short to be worn by real women. I think Tal, her seamstress is very talented and someone at Bravo should pick her up with her own show. Alexis is a joke and I would never buy anything she thinks she designs.

janice sanz on

Are you people kidding me!?!? Her designs are just like those one might see in the Fredericks of Hollywood catalogue. Alexis definitely is a beautiful woman, but even though SHE may think she has good taste, she certainly does not. Her idea of sexy has no maturity or class. I hope someone is kind enough to tell her to cease and desist. Geezus….what an embarrassment!!!

janice sanz on

Okay wait….I’ve decided that I haven’t been fair. After considering all the facets and elements of Alexis’s lifestyle, aspirations, and normal lack of talent, (most of us could not do much better in the fashion design arena,) I have come to the realization that she is simply not aware enough to understand who she really is in this diverse world. She, like many, (but not SO many,) women live in a financially protective bubble. Her life, her husband, her dedication to an archaic religion are simply proof that our continuing evolution is not quite where we’d like it to be. I think I feel sorry for her…..no…I do.

Donna on

Love your clothes keep going girlfriend everything is fantastic I wish I had a event everyday to wear your line. Dont listen to the jelouse ones they havea hard hearts. you look great and are a inspiration to all housewife.. go girl !!!!

Patricia Rose on

Her dresses are HOT,HOT,HOT. What? Your dress size too big???? I love them. Alexis you need to show the back of the dress. SOLD!

Patricia Rose on

I HEAR JEALOUSY IN THE HOUSE!!! Christ was crucified too.

AmazonRDH on

I bought the black sundress with the white and black braid and was SOOOOO disappointed! It looks super cute on her, but in person the fabric is very thin and low quality and the “cups” are cut way to “low”, meaning they don’t end when the boobs end but keep on going like granny’s boobs! SIGH! I only wear it poolside when it’s family only…. what a waste.
