Marie Osmond's Wedding Dress: Then and Now

When Marie Osmond remarried first husband Stephen Craig on Wednesday, it wasn’t hard to find her something old: she simply reused her original wedding dress. The singing star pulled the Ret Turner gown — long-sleeved with a full skirt (so Catherine Middleton!) — out of her archives, updating it with a simpler veil and chunky pearls. The move wasn’t her original plan — a dress she’d had specially designed for the occasion wasn’t “right,” she tells ET — but it worked out perfectly. “I was cleaning out my garage and all of a sudden this box showed up in this pile of stuff … and it was this dress and it was five days ago. I’m not kidding,” she says. “I can’t breathe, but I’m in it.” Turner, a renowned Hollywood costume designer, actually clothed Osmond in her earlier years while he was working on Donny and Marie in 1977. An Emmy winner several times over, he also served as costume designer on programs like The Sonny and Cher Show and Mama’s Family, and won the Costume Designers’ Guild Award for lifetime achievement — presented by Osmond — in 2002. While Osmond didn’t end up requiring a wardrobe change for her private Las Vegas nuptials, groom Craig, for his part, did swap tuxes; when the couple first married in 1982, he wore white. –Kate Hogan

I am so happy for you Marie! ( & Steve)

You are now where you are suppose to be! Marie you now have that special love you always desired. That tight knit kind of love. The kind that can forget the wedding anniversary and it funny, the kind that does’t rely on gifts, cards and flowers, but the little things like remembering to…….

Steve, doesn’t if feel like you are finally home. And where have you been?

And you still both look the same 20ish, only now you have 30ish years of experience!!

OXOXOXOX,

Howie and Chriss :)

@Jill
Sorry for your loss. I too recently lost a brother to suicide at the age of 27. If you haven’t heard her version of Pie Jesu, go get it. You can hear her pain but it’s beautiful.

Congrats to Marie- she deserves all the happiness she gets.

I teared up when Donny told Oprah life hasn’t been good to Marie, so here’s hoping she gets her happily ever after. Congrats indeed!

LOVED MARIE FOR YEARS AND YEARS AND FOLLOWED EVERYTHING ABOUT HER. I M HAPPY FOR HER BUT I THINK SHE JUST MADE ANOTHER HUGE MISTAKE. SHE SEEMS TO HAVE MARRIED OUT OF DEPSERATION AND TO SOMEONE SHE THINKS HAS CHANGED..HA!! SHE WILL REGRET IT…HE WILL DO IT AGAIN TO HER AND IM SURE WE KNOW WHY HE MARRIED HER AGAIN…SAME REASON AS THE FIRST TIME..SHE WORKS.. HE PLAYS!!
HE IS SO FAT AND NOT AGED WELL ALSO SHE IS SO GORGEOUS..SHE COULD HAVE ANYONE SHE WANTS AND SHE DOES THIS..AFTER 35 YEARS OF LOVING MARIE I AM CHANGING MY OPINION OF HER NOW AND IF SHE GETS DIVORCED AND GOES ON CRYING AGAIN THIS TIME I SAY SHE DESERVES IT!!

I think this is a beautiful thing, after all these years they decide to get back together, plus she looks even better than before! This proves that if it’s meant 2 b it’s going to happen!

Steven Craig cheated on Marie more than once – why do u think they divorced? Does a leopard change its spots?? I sincerely hope Marie, who is very, very fiancially comfy, has a VERY SOLID pre-nup, because he has no money, and has worked barely a day in his life for all of these years. I foresee Marie working as hard as she always has, and supporting him. How long will tha last? I gave Marie more credit in judgment, and she can certainly do better. Given all of this, hate to say it – the last thing I’d do if it were me is wear that dress again – talk about a dose of dejavu???????

Best Wishes to the happy couple! They both look better now than they did 30 years ago! Lots of happiness & joy to Marie & Stephen! Marie certainly deserves all the best that life can bring.

I hope the best for her. If her first husband cheated on her and that is why they divorced, I wish her the best of luck on that. Very few (at one time it was 3%) of remarriages work out. I remarried my first and only husband. A major mistake. He went back to cheating and we divorced 13 yrs later. I will never remarry again, to anyone
