Kate and Pippa Middleton's Post-Wedding Looks: All the Details!

They may have worn custom Alexander McQueen the day of the royal wedding, but the morning after, both Kate Middleton and her sister, Pippa, had returned to their girl-next-door styles. Newlywed Kate, who strolled the palace grounds with her husband, looked effortlessly chic Saturday morning in a black blazer, Greta wedges by L.K. Bennett (to be re-released as the Kate wedge for $265 in June) and a blue pleated dress by Zara, just $90. And great minds must think alike: Pippa was spotted out in London, too, sporting crisp white pants, cute nude flats and a bright blue tailored blazer, $100, also by Zara. The girls are famous for their sensible style; just days before the wedding, they did some shopping in London, where Kate picked up a variety of reasonably priced dresses and cardigans from stores like Warehouse and Banana Republic, presumably for her honeymoon. The Duchess is also known for her sensible shoes — pumps by British fashion house L.K. Bennett are a fave — and the accessibility of her everyday outfits. We can’t wait to see (and buy!) what the girls wear next.

They are just so plain and not beautiful. I wish someone would give Kate a lesson on how to do her eyeliner – have you seen her close up? Goodness, so boring!

I just wanted to mention, the week leading up to the wedding, ET, Extra, etc. (all the t.v. “rag” shows) made such fun of Sarah Ferguson’s “bustle” on her wedding dress which, I agree, (the dress) WAS a disaster. However, did you notice Kate’s dress had a small bustle? Note the papps NEVER mentioned THAT – how COULD they when they’d spent the previous week blasting Fergie for the very same thing – a bustle! Cowards. Otherwise, after initial disappointment as I felt Kate just pointed at Grace Kelly’s wedding gown and said “just make that, only add a vee-neck,” which I thought was SO transparent and therefore … ick, I decided the dress was appropriate and lovely, but still, got any thoughts of your own, Kate? It WAS lovely, but a total rip-off of Kelly’s dress and not very original, however appropriate. Still, the MOST irritating thing? The press’s inability to admit they are jerks and NEVER mentioning the BUSTLE on Kate’s dress too! Again, COWARDS. I think Kate will play her role well and not do anything to “upset” the “delicate” royal sensibilities. Sigh. Diana had the guts, especially as she was lied to and only SHE did not know she was only a “brood mare,” and that Charles did NOT love her, but was still pining for Camilla the Cow. Still, Diana won in the end, even though the Queen had her “offed.” I am CONVINCED of this. Even Diana knew they were “bucking” for her and predicted her own auto accident brought about by the M-1? (I think that’s what they’re called; Britian’s version of the CIA). It’s time God calls queen Elizabeth home and reads her the riot act for killing Diana, her nemesis. Best to all; just MY opinion :D.

As a mother of a 13 year old girl it is so refreshing to have Kate and Pippa as fashion role models for my daughter. Thank God Paris and the rest of the Hollywood D-list Celebutantes are losing their appeal.

Dear RMJ,

Remember this – Princess Diana was an ICON after she came into her womanhood (not before). She was shy and lack some qualities that weren’t present when she married Prince Charles. As she got older (and wiser) she discovered her true self and brought that energy to the forefront. And, am I guessing, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, will do the exact thing and came into her own – with grace, elegance and confident. Now, if Catherine was a hot mess, you would be asking WHY Prince William married such a tramp.

When an individual has simplicity in their lives plus a solid ounce of confident, grace and faith, the allure, glamour and all things exciting comes forth.

No matter the level of the media’s intrusive actions, pictures of the Duchess will be taken, the photograhers will make their $$$ and life will go on.

Leanne, these girls are such a hit with the public because of their understated elegance and simplicity. Kate and Pippa ARE undoubtedly pretty girls (maybe not drop dead gorgeous, but who cares anyway???) and they will hopefully bring back some fashion sense in this world of flashy, ridiculously dressed young people. Less is more, and these girls prove that is true. So glad to see this new blood in the Royal Family…they needed it.
