He’s definitely not afraid to flaunt his toned abs, and now there’s another little something Zac Efron is showing to the world: some full-on facial hair! Though he’d been sporting a clean-cut look in recent months, the actor slowly began to transition his look after splitting with longtime girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens, starting with a little stubble before growing it out into a mini-mustache. Then Thursday night he took it a step further, debuting his full-fledged facial hair — is that a soul patch we see? — courtside at the Lakers game in Los Angeles. Naturally, we think Efron looks hot no matter what, but we want to know what you think. Tell us: Do you like Efron’s new mustache and beard? –Kim Peiffer

Jeweler Recalls Selling Krupp Diamond to Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton

Some men say “I love you,” with chocolate. Others send flowers. And in 1968, Richard Burton famously bought Elizabeth Taylor the 33-carat Krupp diamond. “She loved big stones and they really suited her personality,” explains jeweler Ward Landrigan, who negotiated the sale when he was the head of the Sotheby’s jewelry department. As a young man, he was tasked with delivering the bauble to Burton and Taylor — and spent several days with them until the insurance came through. “I remember the morning I brought her the Krupp diamond, [Burton] answered the door,” he recalls, adding that when he knocked at 7 a.m., the actor was still in his pajamas. “He opened the box and said, ‘Elizabeth!’ She came running out of the bedroom in her nightgown.” As Burton presented Taylor with the stone, Landrigan says she exclaimed, “Oh s—t!” and tackled her then-husband. “She gave him a huge kiss,” Landrigan says. “In fact, it was so big they knocked the lamp off the table next to the sofa! She gave him a couple of big kisses [and squealed], ‘Oh Richard, I love it! I love it!’” And though she cherished the giant gem, she was willing to share, says Landrigan, who recalls watching a busload of schoolgirls gawk at Taylor and Burton as they lunched after a day on a film set. “Elizabeth called the manager in and said, ‘If you give the girls something to write on and send them in two at a time, I’ll autograph something for them,’” he says. “There must’ve been 50 of them and she let every one of them try on the ring, which of course gave me a heart attack, and it was amazing.” –Lesley Messer

Kanye West Creates Line of Album-Inspired Scarves

He’s a hip-hop artist, a sneaker designer, and even a perfumer. But Kanye West isn’t stopping the brand expansion there: now he’s moving onto scarf designing. According to Nowness.com, West is helping to create a new line of scarves inspired by the artwork on his latest album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. West commissioned M/M’s Mathias Augustyniak and Michael Amzalag to create illustrative patterns that complement the record’s cover images, which consist of five bawdy paintings by American artist George Condo. The scarves will feature baroque-style letters, and figures like a severed head wearing a crown and a naked sphinx straddling a likeness of West. The scarves will be sold in a limited-edition of run 250 (50 of each of five designs) this spring at Colette and mmparis.com, but you can get a sneak peek of the collection at nowness.com. 24 Hour Trend Alert: White-Hot Dresses

Cameron, Blake and Drew Wear White

There may not have been any walks down the wedding aisle this week (with the exception of Reese!), but there was an abundance of white dresses at CinemaCon in Last Vegas. Leading ladies Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Blake Lively all proved that you don’t have to be a bride to don a white dress — and you don’t have to wait until after Memorial Day, either! Lively rocked a Dolce & Gabbana lacy mini and topped it with a jacket to promote her new film, Green Lantern, at the event Wednesday night (she later swapped it for red). Meanwhile, Diaz flaunted her toned physique in a cotton waffle ribbon-strap dress from the spring/summer 2011 Victoria Beckham collection on Thursday, as she picked up an award for female star of the year. Pal Barrymore, who surprised her Charlie’s Angels costar by presenting her with her statuette on stage, wore an Akris white cotton silk long-sleeve dress from the line’s spring/summer 2011 collection, rounding out the bold and bright trend.
