EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Ralph Lauren Introduces the Newest Faces of ‘Romance’

Since the debut of its iconic Romance fragrance 13 years ago, Ralph Lauren has used real-life couples to tell the sensual story of the scent — and this latest chapter is no exception. In its new campaign, the beauty brand features dashing Argentine polo star (and Ralph Lauren Black Label model) Nacho Figueras and his photographer wife, Delfina “Delfi” Blaquier, riding majestic white horses through prairies and sharing a glimpse inside their fairytale romance. Shot by Bruce Weber, the spot was filmed on location in Buenos Aires at Blaquier’s grandparents’ estate, where she spent many of her early years and where the couple later married. “We are so honored that Mr. Lauren chose us to represent the Romance fragrance and that he sees in us a real life happy couple, symbolic of his vision of romance,” the couple said in a statement. Their own story is one of love at first sight: Figueras saw Blaquier taking her seat at one of his polo matches, and since he knew her cousin, he asked for an introduction. Since marrying, the couple has welcomed three children, and travels the world when they’re not relaxing on their Buenos Aires ranch. Reese Witherspoon’s Dress Designer of Choice: Jason Wu!

Michelle Obama may have put him on the map, but it’s Reese Witherspoon who’s helping to keep designer Jason Wu‘s name in the news. The newlywed actress has apparently made the 28-year-old style star her go-to when she needs a party-perfect look: she’s worn his cocktail dresses more than five times since the beginning of 2010! At Sunday’s Water for Elephants premiere in New York City, Witherspoon stunned in a sleeveless white dress with black lace detail. In January, she brought a pop of color to the carpet, stepping out in a playful V-neck purple number at Avon’s 125th anniversary celebration. Months earlier, in October, she scored again in a strapless black-and-nude cocktail dress for an Avon event in the Big Apple. We loved her look in March 2010, too, as she arrived at the Global Leadership Awards in Washington, D.C., wearing a belted black-and-blue frock. And Wu’s whimsical take on the LBD looked perfect on Witherspoon when she appeared at a fund-raiser for the EIF Women’s Cancer Research Fund in January of 2010. He may not have had the plum job of designing her wedding dress, but it seems that Wu has a fashionable friend in Witherspoon. Tell us: Which of Witherspoon’s Wu dresses is your favorite?

Cassie, Solange Knowles, Selita Ebanks: The New Faces of Carol’s Daughter

What defines beauty? According to skincare line Carol’s Daughter, it’s ever evolving, and to share that theory, the brand has enlisted Selita Ebanks, Solange Knowles and Cassie as the faces of its new multiracial ad campaign. What makes the trio so unique is that each of the lovely ladies hold ancestry from at least two racial groups: Ebanks is of Jamaican, Irish, Indian and African heritage; Knowles comes from African-American and French Creole descent; and Cassie is African-American and Filipino. “Carol’s Daughter doesn’t have just one direct demographic,” Ebanks told WWD. “Solange’s hair is a different texture than mine; so is Cassie’s. Our skin and body types are different. Today, people are blended, and I think the three of us are a prime example. Women in my family range from vanilla to the deepest chocolate.” The girls join a star-studded roster of former Carol’s Daughter spokeswomen, including Jada Pinkett Smith and Mary J. Blige. The first campaign, touting the Monai Repairing Collection (a nourishing three-step hair system) will launch on carolsdaughter.com and in Sephora stores May 1. Tell us: What do you think of the brand’s new faces? –Kim Peiffer
