Kate Middleton Spotted Shopping — for Honeymoon Gear? — in London

Kate Middleton Honeymoon ShoppingCourtesy Warehouse; Inset: Rex USA

Though the world may be focused on Kate Middleton‘s wedding dress, the princess-to-be has some other wardrobe worries — like what to wear on the honeymoon! The blushing bride, who’s just nine days away from her wedding, was spotted out in London Tuesday, picking up nearly $350 worth of summery items from British retailer Warehouse. After spending 30 minutes in the store, she left with the feather-print one-shoulder dress (top left, $72), tropical bird-print dress (top right, $105), bright floral bandeau frill dress (bottom left, $72) and lace-trim square-cut blouse (bottom right, $89, sold out). Afterward, she visited a nearby Banana Republic store, where she purchased a pale blue mini ruffle cardigan ($45), floral print maxi dress and white knit top, spending about $340 in total. With sister Pippa in tow, she spent just about 15 minutes inside the shop. “She was very low key and didn’t make a fuss or ask for help,” a salesperson tells PEOPLE, adding that she was without security. “I said ‘hi’ and she shook my hand. She was so genuine and lovely.” Afterward, Middleton popped into Richard Ward’s salon, where she regularly gets her hair done. Thursday, Middleton continued her mini shopping spree on King’s Road, first visiting Whistles boutique, then Peter Jones, where she grabbed some Bobbi Brown cosmetics. Though the location of Middleton and Prince William‘s honeymoon has not been revealed — and will likely be kept under wraps — rumors are swirling that the royal couple plans to vacation in Jordan after their April 29 wedding. –Kate Hogan, with reporting by Monique Jessen

Isaac Mizrahi is bored with dogs in shorts. “All dogs need to wear long pants as opposed to short,” he told PEOPLEPets.com last week at the 14th annual ASPCA Bergh Ball. “I think long is working for dogs. Blue and green, seriously, I am feeling are very kind of cool,” he added. Joking or not, he is serious about one thing: animal adoption. Read more on PEOPLEPets.com.

Jennie Garth Can’t Stand Store Dressing Rooms

Jennie Garth Can't Stand Store Dressing RoomsAndreas Branch/Sipa

Actress Jennie Garth has seen many an on-set dressing room in her day, but when she takes shopping trips, she avoids the dimly lit rooms at all costs. “There’s nothing worse than going in to a dressing room,” Garth told PEOPLE recently on the set of the Dove Close-Up Challenge commercial shoot. “The mirrors, the lights, it’s all bad.” But her dislike for the public boudoir does not mean she stays out of the stores. “I like to shop so I’ll just buy whatever I find out there. I just don’t like to try things on,” she explained. “I just sort of know my body type so whatever I pull I just take home and it usually works.” Garth’s packed closet is a favorite play place for her three daughters, Luca, 13, Lola, 8 and Fiona, 4, who try her clothes on all the time. “My Lola thinks she can run in high heels, that’s her claim to fame,” the actress said. “And my Fiona … I like to dress her in classic dresses but then like high-tops. She’s … cool but classic.” The growing girls also take advantage of mom’s makeup drawer when they can, too. “I don’t remember my mom being a big makeup person,” she said. “However, my own daughters are already wearing makeup.” Fiona loves lip glosses — she even knows how to smack her lips! — while Luca, being the eldest, gets the extra-fancy hand-me-downs. “She is pretty stocked up with the good stuff,” Garth admitted. One beauty buy mom won’t share, though? Her Dove VisibleCare Body Wash. “I really do use it every day, I’m not lying,” she shared. “And I’m out, so I’m going to steal a new bottle from the set today. Don’t tell anyone!” –Patrick Gomez

Lauren Conrad Launches thebeautydepartment.comCourtesy thebeautydepartment.com

Her latest foray into the reality TV world didn’t work out, but fear not, Lauren Conrad is anything but bored. The former MTV starlet, author and budding fashion designer today launched thebeautydepartment.com, a website full of hair and makeup tips she’s procured over the years. The photo and video how-tos star Conrad, plus her longtime hairstylist, Kristin Ess, and her makeup artist, Amy Nadine. Conrad says that before joining forces with her glam team, she often turned to fashion magazines for beauty help — often unsuccessfully. “Growing up, I never really learned how to do my hair and makeup correctly and the results weren’t always great,” Conrad said in a release. “Our goal with The Beauty Department is to provide girls and young women with a basic how-to of simplified versions of popular trends and styles that they can recreate themselves.” The site covers hair and makeup basics, as well as health-related beauty topics, like sun protection. Readers can also submit questions, which the trio will attempt to answer online. Tell us: Will you check out thebeautydepartment.com? Kate Hogan

Michelle Obama: Barack “Says He’s Cool” With Malia Wearing Makeup

While life as the president’s daughter is probably pretty unique, there are some rites of passage every girl experiences, regardless of how famous her father is. For Malia Obama, right now it’s experimenting with makeup. During a joint appearance on The View Monday with Dr. Jill Biden, Michelle Obama said that her oldest daughter, who’s 12½, is just starting to use cosmetics. After the First Lady returned home from her whirlwind two-day, four-city military families tour, “Malia’s like, ‘Mom I need to talk to you,’” Michelle recalled. “And it was 10:30 [at night], and we talked, and we talked, and we talked. We talked about makeup, actually.” Though Michelle was fine with her little girl taking a grown-up step, she said hubby Barack didn’t appear to take it quite as easily. “He says he’s cool … but, you know …” she shared, laughing. “The first time Malia went out for a party … she had her hair done, and she’s tall, and she had on a pretty dress, you could see him, he was sort of like … ‘gulp.’ And I was like, ‘Easy, dad.’” Tell us: When did you start using makeup?
