Meghan McCain Takes Her Hair Even Blonder

Blake Lively‘s red hair may have been the talk of the TIME 100 Gala Tuesday night, but another star hit the carpet with a new hue, too: a noticeably blonder Meghan McCain. “Blonder is always better, for me,” she told PEOPLE. “I’m from Arizona, which is like being from Texas. So I like big hair and blonde hair — and lots of makeup all the time.” McCain, wearing an Alexander McQueen dress, said her stylist Josh Rupley — who was also her date — was the mastermind behind her color change. “He’s been doing my hair since the campaign,” she explained, adding that he understands her primping preferences. “People always want to put in low-lights to make [my hair] look more natural. I am always, like, addicted to bleach.” For makeup, the blogger turned to Karen Dupiche, who works for Sherri Shepherd, too. “I met her at The View, and I just loved the makeup that she did,” McCain shared. Next up for the 26-year-old is a weekend trip to the NRA Convention in Pittsburgh with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow. So, is blonder better for an event like that? “I don’t think it matters,” answered McCain. “I just think you’ve got to like guns.” –Jeffrey Slonim
