Reese Witherspoon’s Wedding Dress: Pretty and Pink!

March 26 may have been a nice day for a white wedding, but radiant bride Reese Witherspoon was thinking pink! The actress walked down the aisle at her Ojai, Calif., estate in a custom-designed Monique Lhuillier blush-hued gown with a Chantilly lace corset bodice and full tulle A-line skirt before exchanging vows with agent Jim Toth. The gown — 11-year-old daughter Ava’s custom Lhuillier dress matched — also featured a double-face silk satin ribbon with cascading silk flowers. The actress, 35, “wowed,” says a guest. “She took your breath away.” Underneath her dress, Witherspoon sported Jimmy Choo’s classic “Macy” satin platform sandal, giving her a boost next to her tall beau. When it came time to party, the bride ditched her long look and changed into a second Lhuillier design, a white silk minidress with a festive party skirt. But the party’s not over yet: since her nuptials, Witherspoon has been seeing wearing a large pave diamond wedding band from the William Goldberg Diamond Corporation, which matches the sparkling 4-carat diamond engagement ring (by the same brand) Toth presented to her when he proposed in December 2010. She looks beautiful! I love the pink dress and her hair seems to go with the vibe of the wedding and reception that she planned. Can’t wait to get my copy and see more pictures. Many happy years together Reese and Jim! I’m going to celebrate 16 wonderful years this month!

I jut got the newest issue of Us Magazine (don’t worry, People, you’re next, the newest issue’s just not at my Safeway yet), and the editor of Brides.com criticized Reese for wearing a veil. This is b.s. Apparently this woman doesn’t know that today, brides can wear whatever they want – despite being an editor of a bridal magazine site. And I find it refreshing when a second-time bride wears a veil at a time when many first-time brides do not. Maybe she criticized Shania Twain for wearing a veil at her second wedding.

Seriously, folks, when are we gonna do away with all these silly “rules” about weddings, and just let the couple enjoy themselves? People should have the kind of weddings they want, without someone like this so-called editor criticizing them. I just turned 50, and I may marry my long-term boyfriend sometime, and if I do, I’m going to wear a full-blown white gown, with a train and veil so long they’re both out the back door. People will yap about it, but, whatever. They’re not the ones walking down that aisle and making that all-important promise. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it, Ms. Editor.

I usually like an up-do hair for a wedding but I thought that wearing her hair down made Reese look younger and quite beautiful. It was also an afternoon wedding so it was a less formal affair. And the bottom line is that I bet Toth likes the long, flowy hair. BEAUTIFUL! I also thought she looked a lot like Carrie Underwood in this photo. Best wishes!

Her hair is not too casual at all! I know people are entitled to their opinion but I can’t believe people are finding fault with this look!
