Ricky Martin Gets a Custom Giorgio Armani World Tour Wardrobe

Ricky Martin World Tour

After creating the inventive costumes for Lady Gaga‘s Monster Ball last year, Giorgio Armani is back on the concert beat, designing looks for Ricky Martin’s upcoming Musica + Alma + Sexo world tour. “Ricky personifies today’s modern man,” says the designer, who dressed the singer for two previous world tours. “I am thrilled to be working with him again.” As far as Martin is concerned, he is happy to reprise the role of muse. “I have always loved Giorgio Armani’s designs,” he gushes. “The looks he has created for my new tour are uniquely creative … he will help bring Musica + Alma + Sexo alive.” While the tour is expected to incorporate themes including 1980s punk, 1920s jazz and Afro-Brazilian elements, the proposed looks smack of refined Ricky — a testament to how well the designer knows his pal. After all, Armani boasts, “Our long-standing friendship has now spanned well over a decade.” The Musica + Alma + Sexo tour comes stateside on April 8. Tell us: What do you think of Armani’s proposed designs? –Justine Harman

Tyra Banks: I’m Not a High-Fashion Girl

Tyra Banks is Frightening by High Fashion
Evan Agostini/PictureGroup

Tyra Banks has worked the runway in some of the world’s most fabulous fashion, but deep down inside, she says she’s actually not a haute couture girl. The model-turned-mogul — and current business student — tells New York that all the years spent doing fittings for designer gowns actually made her a little, well, nervous. “I always still felt intimidated,” she tells the magazine. “Karl Lagerfeld is dressing me, Yves Saint Laurent is like smoothing my hem or something, and I felt like a little teenage girl and that these amazing designers were around me and that they were like these Greek gods. So I knew it wasn’t my truth. Although I was, like, flattered and like, ‘Oh, this is amazing!’” But the America’s Next Top Model host has still managed to start a few trends; for instance, the meat dress phenomenon, which happened in an ANTM challenge months before Lady Gaga wore her version to the Video Music Awards. “You know I never saw it, I just read about it,” Banks explains, saying she never thought Gaga stole the idea from the show. “Lady Gaga is such an artist that I doubt that she was looking at Top Model or her stylist was looking at Top Model and saying, ‘We should do it.’ I think they just did it and we just happened to do it first.” For more with Banks, check out nymag.com. –Kim Peiffer

Ashley Greene Helps Dress Teens in Need for Prom

Ashley Greene DonateMyDress.org

If Ashley Greene had gone to our high school, she totally would’ve been prom queen. So it makes sense that the Twilight beauty is returning for a third year as the official spokesperson of DonateMyDress.org, a national campaign that encourages girls around the country to donate gently used special occasion dresses to other teens in need. “In high school, I had to work several jobs to save enough to buy a prom dress,” Greene said in a statement. “It was so worth it: I had a blast at prom! Every girl should have the chance to have that experience.” The actress has given several of her red carpet gowns to the cause, and this year, is donating the white Lela Rose dress she wore to the Chrysalis Butterfly Ball. In addition to her contributions, Greene is hosting a live Twitterview for fans on Wednesday, March 23, from 4:30-4:45 p.m. on twitter.com/donatemydress. Girls can Tweet questions about dressing for prom, doing makeup and hair, handling date and friend dilemmas, and Greene will write back in real time. For more information on dress donations, or to find a dress, visit DonateMyDress.org. –Kate Hogan

Does Emma Watson ever sleep? She’s modeled for Burberry, collaborated with People Tree, started work for Lancome — and don’t forget her day job acting in the Harry Potter movies! Recently, she announced she was designing a small collection for Alberta Ferretti, called Pure Threads, and today, the line goes on sale exclusively at albertaferretti.com. It consists of just five pieces: two dresses ($1010-$1080), a shirt ($670), a long skirt ($880) and a pair of denim shorts ($340), all enriched with lace embroideries and made with organic fabrics such as cotton poplin, cotton muslin and hemp. According to Ferretti, Watson really made the line her own. “Emma was very much involved in the design process, and was very particular in how she wanted the collection to look and feel,” she tells PEOPLE. “Emma has a great freshness about her and is very intelligent, and this made it a pleasure to work with her.” Though a second collaboration isn’t planned (yet!), Ferretti says she’s happy to work with more rising stars. “I am always keen to seek new talent,” she shares. “The young are the future and I am always inspired by new ideas.” Tell us: Will you buy a piece from Watson’s line?Kate Hogan
