Gwen Stefani’s Wedding Dress Finds a New Home at a Museum!

Gwen Stefani's Wedding Dress Goes to the Museum

Most women’s wedding dresses end up in an attic, or perhaps tucked under a bed — but Gwen Stefani is not your typical bride. The singer and fashion designer tells Elle U.K. that her one-of-a-kind Christian Dior gown, created by embattled designer John Galliano, is heading to a permanent home in the Victoria and Albert Design Museum in London. “I didn’t wanna send it because I was scared it would get ruined. But it’s a work of art, it needed to be seen,” she tells the magazine. Stefani, who married rocker Gavin Rossdale in London in 2002, says Galliano made her wedding day dreams come true. “When I got engaged and someone told me that John said he would make my dress, I was like really?” she recalls. “I said I wanted it to be over the top, but not traditional — I wanted it to be everything. But how do you tell this genius over the phone?” Luckily, the designer listened to her wishes. “He was, like, OK, and sent me these drawings of this unbelievable, perfect dress.” –Kim Peiffer

See Behind the Scenes of Blake Lively’s New Chanel Ads!

Hot on the heels of the first of Chanel’s Mademoiselle handbag ads featuring Blake Lively, the famed fashion house has released another image from the campaign. This one features the young starlet perched on the infamous steps of the brand’s Parisian headquarters, her red, quilted baguette replaced by a sparkly, blue design. The striking continuity in the ads lies in the actress’ gaze, which is locked dead on with the viewer — or in this case, Chanel creative director, Karl Lagerfeld, who photographed the ads. It’s no surprise then, that Lively has revealed her admiration for Lagerfeld, telling WWD, “I have such a respect for fashion and such an appreciation for it that if there are people like Karl Lagerfeld out there designing, who am I?” We’ll break it down for you: You’re Blake Lively. She did it again! Days after her sultry V magazine cover was released, Britney Spears strikes several seductive poses for April’s Out in the publication’s first-ever “Ladies We Love” issue. In a series of super-personal questions, Spears talks about everything from the best advice she’s received — “My mom said when you have a bad day, eat ice cream,” she shares — to her favorite Golden Girl (Betty White, for the record). But she also dishes on aging and beauty, even touching on the topic of plastic surgery. “When it’s time to pull and tuck, I’m sure I will consider it,” she reveals. Sharing that she’s “excited to be out of [her] 20s,” Spears goes on to say that she’s worked to mold her career after, not surprisingly, Madonna. But she has another famous role model: Carrie Bradshaw herself. “I also admire Sarah Jessica Parker‘s career,” Spears says. “And her shoe collection!” For more on Spears’s likes (grabbing frozen yogurt with her boys) and dislikes (being on a diet), check out the April issue of Out, available online now. BUZZ: Could Kate Middleton Choose Alexander McQueen for Her Wedding Gown?

Kate Middleton Alexander McQueen Wedding Dress Rumors

Will it be a McQueen for the princess? As Sarah Burton — who took over as creative director of Alexander McQueen following the designer’s death last year — sent out a collection in Paris on Tuesday that pointed to “The Ice Queen and her court” as the show’s theme, rumors are running rampant that she’s designing a gown for a real (and certainly warmer) princess-to-be. The U.K.’s Sunday Times splashed “Revealed: McQueen designer to make royal wedding dress” across its front page this weekend, but the British house denies the commission for Kate Middleton. A representative for McQueen says, “I can confirm that Alexander McQueen are not making Kate Middleton’s wedding dress.” But with a fall/winter 2011 collection that culminated in not one, but four frothy white gowns fit for a princess, Burton certainly proved she was up for the task. Suggestions for the designer of the dress that Middleton, 29, will wear at her wedding to Prince William on April 29 have ranged from British designers Bruce Oldfield to Philippa Lepley. The palace has consistently said Middleton wants to keep the designer a secret until the big day, though, and a palace spokesman wouldn’t comment Sunday saying this was simply the latest “speculation.” Still, fashionistas are holding out hope that the McQueen rumor will turn out to be true. Only 50 days till we know for sure! –Reporting by Simon Perry and Monique Jessen

Gisele Bündchen Goes Boho for H&M Spring Ads

Though we’re used to seeing Gisele Bündchen in edgy editorials, the supermodel reveals her softer side in new ads for H&M‘s spring collection. Draped in earthy tones, floral maxiskirts and boho accessories, Bündchen is refreshingly feminine and approachable in the images; a stark contrast to her recent gender-bending turn for Balenciaga. For the laid-back photos, shot by Daniel Jackson, hairstylist Serge Normant perfected the star’s trademark beach-fresh ringlets, while Robert Rydberg’s effortless styling got us jonesing for sandal weather. And while we’re on the fence about the flesh-colored playsuit (below), we think Bündchen pulls the look off with aplomb. Tell us: What do you think of Bündchen’s hippie-chic ads for H&M?Justine Harman
