Katie Holmes’s Clothing Line: Made in the U.S.A.

When celebrities translate their fame into fashion, they usually go one of two ways: licensed goods (a la Jessica Simpson‘s $1 billion empire) or the high-end, aspirational, route. Katie Holmes and her partner in Holmes & Yang, stylist Jeanne Yang, have unabashedly gone the latter. “Sometimes when life gets really busy you don’t want to have to think about what it is you’re going to wear,” Holmes tells New York magazine of the style quandary that inspired the collection, now in its second season at Barneys New York. “You just want to have certain pieces that you know you can just depend on.” For Holmes and Yang, those wardrobe staples include $1,400 slouch blazers and $1,250 pencil skirts, whose hefty price tags they attribute to local production. “We can make some of the most beautiful luxury pieces here,” Yang says of the made-in-New-York collection. “Kate and I are always talking about how we’re Americans, and we want people to realize this, and so our price points — you know we don’t have the best margins but it doesn’t matter for us.” And for her part, Holmes has similar priorities: “It’s more important that it’s made in the U.S.A.” Justine Harman

Rihanna: My Haircut Transformed My Style

Rihanna‘s hair isn’t the only thing that’s red-hot these days: the star is bigger than ever, from her Grammy wins to her ad campaigns to her new fragrance. And now, she’s opening up in April’s Vogue about becoming a style icon — and learning to love herself in the process. Fashion, she says, has “become more about taking a risk. When I am putting looks together, I dare myself to make something work.” Key in her style evolution was her major hair chop a few years ago, which she says transformed her look: “When I cut my hair, the whole sound changed, my style changed.” Another recent realization for the pop star? Coming to terms with her figure. “Over the holidays … I realized that I actually like my body, even if it’s not perfect according to the book. I just feel sexy,” she says. “For the first time, I don’t want to get rid of the curves. My body is comfortable, and it’s not unhealthy, so I’m going to rock with it.” Tell us: Are you a fan of Rihanna’s style? –Alex Apatoff

Priscilla Presley Launches Jewelry Collection

Forget the blue suede shoes: Priscilla Presley is venturing into the world of jewelry. The businesswoman (and Elvis Presley’s former wife) has created a new line of baubles called, appropriately, the Priscilla Presley Jewelry Collection, debuting on QVC Friday. “My hopes were that this line would add a little unconventionality and beauty to every woman’s day-to-day,” Presley tells PEOPLE of the intricate necklaces, earrings and rings, designed to emanate rock-meets-red carpet glamour. “It shouldn’t be difficult to accessorize,” she continues. “I have many friends and family who simply feel a panic when trying to put together an outfit. I want my jewelry to be the go-to jewelry. I want women to be able to throw on a pair of jeans or a little black dress but simply reach into the jewelry box without much thought … and just go! No other thoughts than [to] feel unique, beautiful and like a million dollars when they walk out that door.” Sounds like a plan to us! The collection, priced from $23 to $75, launches Friday at 1 a.m. EST on QVC. Tell us: Will you check out Presley’s new line? –Kim Peiffer

Demi Lovato’s New Tattoo Inspired By Her Fans

She’s already thanked her fans for their support, and recently, Demi Lovato took her gratitude a step further. In a video posted to cambio.com Tuesday, the 18-year-old unveils her new tattoos, one on her left wrist which reads “Stay” and another on the right that says “Strong,” plus a tiny heart that represents the love of her supporters. “I wanted to thank my fans in a way I know can never be forgotten,” she explains, adding that while she was receiving treatment for “emotional and physical issues” last year, many of her admirers drew (and even tattooed!) hearts on their own wrists in solidarity. “I wanted to show you guys that I will never forget the support that you … gave me, and I will look at it every day and remember you … and be completely thankful for you. Just thought you guys should know that. I love you.” The starlet also returned to Twitter Tuesday night, sending her first message since October. “Guess who’s baaaaaaaack…!!!!!!!” she wrote. “I love you guys SO MUCH… this support is UNBELIEVABLE!! I’m tearing up I’m so thankful…” Fans reciprocated, Tweeting, “#welcomebackdemi.” –Kate Hogan
