Katy Perry Talks Fashion Inspiration While Shooting Adidas Campaign
What do David Beckham and Katy Perry have in common? Aside from a love of European soccer, they’re both involved in the latest Adidas campaign, “all Adidas.” The new commercials feature athletes like Beckham, the Chicago Bulls’ Derrick Rose and members of the Notre Dame football team getting pumped up alongside Perry and other musical artists, like B.o.B. In a behind-the-scenes video for the campaign, Perry reveals that Adidas collaborator and designer pal Jeremy Scott asked her to participate in the spot, her second for the brand (she did a commercial for Adidas originals about two years ago). Good thing the two are close: when asked about her favorite designers, “Jeremy Scott is always in that group even to this day,” Perry says. The pop star says she draws her fashion inspiration from humor, “pop culture, different females. It’s kind of like cartoonish, punk-rock, cute, smorgasbord of things.” That makes sense, given that her style icons are an eclectic mix including Bettie Page, Wonder Woman, Judy Jetson, Daphne Guinness and Agyness Deyn.
