Pillow fight! Newlyweds Nicole Richie and Joel Madden got into a cute little tiff on Twitter this week over a fairly soft topic: pillows. “Do you ever look at your credit card bill & ask your wife how the hell she could spend 3 thousand dollars on pillows?” Madden asked his followers. “I do. I mean can’t we just go to Target and get our pillows???” Richie, who was busy taking in the fall collections at Paris Fashion Week, playfully responded to her hubby, writing, “That’s why I ignore your calls.” But Madden wasn’t going down without a fight. “Needless to say the pillows are going back to the expensive ass pillow store. Hope she likes the Target pillows I’m putting in their place,” later adding, “I was thinking they must be made from unicorn manes.” Unfortunately for the Good Charlotte rocker, it looked like Twitter was on Team Richie in this domestic diss — Madden wrote that while the pillows were “already on their way back to the store,” he was “getting attacked by angry kids on Twitter.” Hey, you can’t put a price on a good night’s sleep! –Kate Hogan

I am on his side!

Hilarious! Nice to have a celebrity couple arguing over what all “the rest of us” argue over!

Lindsay on

Lol so funny! I’d be taking those pillows back to the expensive a** pillow store too!

Lynn on

Really?? The “rest of us” don’t have $3,000 to spend on throw pillows let alone argue over them! We live in the “real” world, not the celebrity one.

D on

Seriously? They should be ashamed there are people out there that can not feed their children. Who cares about their pillow issues. They should return the pillows and donate the money to a food pantry!

G on

they donate alot of money to charity already…..they’re normal people too they just have more money. and we’d all like have their amount of money if we could too.

Devon on

Wow! D & Lynn, can you all be any more self righteous? They make a lot more money than most people do and they can spend it on whatever they want to. They aren’t required to give any money to charity if they don’t want to. Nicole & Joel do a lot for the less fortunate but if they want to spend $3000 on pillows, let them. It’s their money.

Kit on

Oh please, who are we to police how people spend their own dang money!?

I too hope that they also donate a nice chunk of change to worthy causes (and who’s to say they don’t?); but it’s their money and they can spend it how they want.

Proportionately, their $3,000 on pillows is like our $30 pillows and no one sneeze at that.

P.S. my spouse and I just spent $400 on six pillows for our bed. We did in fact, sneeze several times, and saved for nearly a year [using our change jars] to buy them because we thought they were so extravagant – but boy, are they were it. We’ve never slept so well!

I’m on his side also..They do donate a lot of money and time to the needy, so as has already been mentioned, if they (umm she) wants to spend that much money on pillows, let them (her)..haha

TB on

$3,000 for pillows? I have to admit that i’m on his side for this.
